Having had a long history with the wonders and horrors of the living body, it truly is amazing just how much stuff is actually inside of us, under pressure.
I am going to have to go out with my boss and her husband and dad for a meal to celebrate the peak periods being over next week, I couldn't really get out of it.

I guess I just wondered how viable Monster still is, I haven't looked anywhere besides librarian specific sites in a while. If people still use it I'll go take a look at my profile and bang it into shape.
I've devoted my life to not working. And yet, I'm perhaps the most successful person from my high school graduating class. It's an example of one of the many dualities found in the universe.
I moved to the UK shortly after finishing college. This was a good few years ago now. And for the past four years, I've been working on average 20 hours a week but getting a full-time wage. I recently changed companies and I'm working even less now but getting more money. These jobs also have work from home components.
I owe it all to the Taoist concept of Wu Wei. "Non-action" is the most common translation. While other people are out there hustling and fighting each other for crappy jobs, I sought the path of least resistance. And as a result, the good, interesting, well-paid jobs came to me.
As Lao-Tzu opined, "Sitting quietly, doing nothing, Spring comes, and the grass grows". By doing nothing, I've accomplished everything. I just allowed the natural order of things to take it's course.
Naturally, Wu Wei isn't about sitting in your own filth. You have to do something. Sort of. It's more the application of non-doing.
For example, I recently sent my resume to a few places. I got a reply asking me to take some test. I said I'd do it. She said she'd email me the test the next day.
Next day comes, nothing. So I send a short email reminding her of who I am, the phone call, and this promised test.
No reply. Some people might have got pissed off and sent angry emails. Others might have got desperate and sent groveling emails. My reply: none. Wu Wei in action.
So the next week, she sends me an email apologising for her lateness and sending me the test. I sent it in the next day. Without even looking at it, without an interview, without checking references, she immediately offered me work. And at a rate of pay higher than anybody else working for that company (as I found out later).
The real test wasn't in the email. It was in the delayed response. But doing nothing, I demonstrated that I don't need the job. My skills are in high demand. So she said, "I better contact this guy before somebody else snaps him up. The job came to me. Not because I'm awesome. It was just the inevitable result of non-doing.
This is just one small example of my applying Wu Wei to positive results. I started reading about Taoism when I was 19 and it changed my life. If you'd like to learn more about Taoism and Wu Wei, consult your school library. There's also a lot of good stories in there giving Confucianists the business. That said, "Books are the dregs and refuse of the Ancients. They took all their true knowledge to the grave." As true today as when it was written. And it would be embarrassing for anyone to point out any perceived contradiction of a book denouncing books. That would be small-thinker talk.

I got my current admin cover job by badgering everyone, everywhere until they caved in to my demands and hired me
No question. I used to do admin jobs. You have to beg to do crappy, dull, low-paying work. That's the wrong way to go.
As Lao-Tzu suggested, "To bend like the reed in the wind, that is the real strength". If they were stiff, they would break. By bending, they live out their lives.

I do a perfectly legitimate job in a specialised field that I won't mention. But there are a lot of jobs like this. I read about some guy who had some job involving airplane parts. I don't know. He wasn't a mechanic or a pilot. It was some job you never heard of. But it was in high demand and specialised. So when he was looking for a job out of state, his employer paid for the relocation.
Since a few people asked this, I'm a librarian. A public librarian, at that. My job now is touching on a bunch of other things like HR, basic payroll management, and grant management (writing, executing, reporting, etc.) and those skills would transfer elsewhere but I'd have to convince someone of that.
It's not even that I don't like my job but dang heck I could use some more money.
There are usually professional associations associated with each field. Something like this: http://ala-apa.org/ for instance. I don't know what the big one in your field is, but I'm sure you do.
Their websites usually have a job board of some kind that is pretty specific in terms of jobs you'll see. Try there.
In other news, I just got a report from one of my references saying that he got a call from TG by the woman who I spent a majority of my time there with.
When my reference asked if TG had met me yet, her response was "Yes, we think Steve is great." Sooo...we'll see. Maaaaaaaaan...

He's the only one of them I like, and that's because he's a sweetheart and looks after me like I'm his grandkid. He tried to give me advice about traveling to America, saying it'd take 15 hours and to "try to get a seat facing forwards, not backwards" and then my boss pointed out that the last time he'd been to America was in the 1950s in mandatory military service!

Man do I dislike LabSupport. So many jobs seem to be listed through them. Jobs I might like. However, every time I apply to a job they are staffing for, I never see so much as an interview with the actual company. I fill out applications and go to 'interviews' with the labsupport folks, but nothing pans out. It always seems like a huge waste of time going through them for anything.
This is compared with the current place I am contracted with. They found me, got me a job and didn't string me along with useless busy work. Also, they used email. This labsupport lady keeps calling me- I hate using the phone. She seems nice enough, but I am not feeling it. Last month she had a job for me, but it fell through. Never even got the name of the company. Now she has another- for reals this time! Should call her back in case it's real but

However, it wasn't for lack of trying. I went to the mall that night to buy myself the appropriate t-shirt and scout out for possible overshirts. I have two shirts with snap buttons, but they aren't something I'd wear even to an interview there. Found a few options, but as the comic that was posted predicted....it all came down to thread count. Anything that was an option would have shown that I was wearing a graphic tee underneath. Shame, because I think it was pretty awesome.
