Everything up to The Catalyst was amazing, have to agree that that final segment was kinda poorly executed though I think that the Catalyst is suppose to be rampantly insane and that makes his "solution" less retarded and just completely insane and illogical. Ended up choosing control because Synthesis sound like bullshit and I wasn't going to throw the geth and EDI under the bus. Since they don't show what Shepard did with control, I'll assume the Reapers either powered down and let themselves get destroyed or dove into the sun, possibly after downloading/leaving behind Relay schematics and/or plans to the Reapers FTL drives. Then Shepard became the Immortal God-Queen of humanity. At least til the Ending DLC comes out.

the only reason it's even marginally useful now is that the thing that makes it completely redundant happens to be bugged
Well, it does mean you can try to equip a different attachment instead of weight reduction, which ain't bad if its going to be your only gun
But it's definitely a lot less exciting than seeing -30% on shotguns or assault rifles
