The only significant part of Dragon's Dogma was that you could latch on to a monster to stab it while climbing around on it. It was fun to stab the goat head of a chimera in the neck.
But also it seemed to be doing some weird faux-MMO thing?
it has neato NPCs called Pawns that are sort of your character's sidekicks, which you can somehow send to your friends, and then your Pawns come back with loot and info
night time is really scary and full of murderous ghosts or something
you can fight griffons and chimeras and dragons and golems and shit
but it is capcom, so as others have said, it will either be awesome or terrible
most of the people that have played it thought it was really neat.
i think the archery looks neat, especially the mage-archer class

I was gonna make a thread for it( I keep adding to it I may never post it) since honestly it looks awesome. It's being made by the Devil May Cry team so the combat will be awesome at any rate . Other notable features include premium weapons and armor being very very rare and usually it's guarded by something huge. So when you kill that Golem you know you'll find something awesome. Assuming it doesn't make you into paste.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

I'd actually define it as the one that has managed to build the best brand name, using product specifications, games and services
because it all decides what console people are going to buy in the next cycle. It's all about what the consumer will think when the new consoles hit the market.
so, according to this criteria, I'd say the Wii is a failure. Yeah it sold a whole lot, but, who's using it anymore? Who remembers it for its wealth of excellent games? who remains dedicated to it, even now?
I'd actually say the winner is the 360, but it's a very, very close call with the PS3. That whole red ring mess, the dearth of good 360 exclusives, and how good (and free) Sony's online services have gotten means that the 360 isn't unassailable, but more people use the 360 for more things. And the Kinect, despite having absolutely rubbish games attached to it, is a remarkable piece of technology, blowing past the Playstation's Move controller. And the impact of the hack of Sony's server should not be forgotten either.
I'd say the 360 is the right blend of mainstream success and quality software and hardware(with the major exception being the RROD).
PS3 probably has the best overall game library, but for a large chunk of the generation the 360 held that crown. PS3 took a long time to catch up, and eventually surpass it.
The Wii managed to become this huge thing but has the weakest library by far.
Meanwhile the 360 isn't as huge as the Wii but is still pretty damn successful as a product and a brand, while it's library isn't quite as good as the PS3 but is still pretty great.
Not like there is a prize for buying the winning console.
All the systems found their place over all, and will probably sell just fine in the next generation.
Most everyone who bought a wii because "oh man Nintendo!" will buy a wiiu, moms and dads will probably buy one for the same reason they bought a wii "they looks neat but he doesn't live here anymore, and it's not that expensive, let's get one" so nintendo is fine.
xbox is the place for online console shooters, and has most every game the ps3 does, so the next one will do fine.
I don't know what the ps3 did but people seem to like it, so, they will probably buy the next one.
1. XBox - Great system with an excellent controller. I had a failure, but the replacement was free and no hassle. Best game library and online service. My go-to gaming machine. I automatically buy for the XBox when I have a choice.
2. PS3 - Decent system marred by weird implementation issues. Too many updates that take too long. Too much installing of new games. General overall clunkiness. Poor controllers. Theoretically powerful hardware let down by the fact that the majority of the games I buy actually play as well or better on the XBox.
3. Wii - Overall well-designed system with horrible library. It's capable of great things - see Xenosaga - but the developers let this one down.
You like pulse-pounding risks and escaping from hideous and scary threats as well as defeating impossibly difficult foes, struggling until you eventually achieve victory, and beating other players.

mostly the PS3 has a lot of great games that are exclusive to it
I haven't played a game on my Xbox in like 3 months, and I don't even have a Wii anymore.
I guess I like using a PC too much? That's weird these days right? I guess I'm a weirdo.
also pc vs console: the keyboard is a horrible game imput device. unless you buy like like super ergo gaming keyboard, but even then since my years of console gaming playing without force feedback doesn't pull me in. so i get really detached, why i only play strategy games and such with it and everything else if i can with a game pad.

I guess the solution to that would be like a nunchuk thing that you could use in tandem with a mouse
Though you'd lose a lot of buttons doing that
not necessarily, if you do it as a set thing. got the one handed deal with the double trigger for double triggerin' and thne the mouse has like 6 or 7 buttons on it. it works out about the same.
give it a pointless scifi name and nerds will eat it up.

And you put like an anime dominatrix with like a SNES theme. it'll make millions.
i missed the first little bit of it, came in when jigsaw was int he meeting with the russians. but man, the punching the dude's face in when they were raiding the house, and how he casually shot the captured mafia guy's face off.
The speech jigsaw gave mocking the military situation at the time. It was great.
The first movie tried to be kind of serious and this was just chocked full of cartoon super villainy and ultra violence.

wait... SDF still exists?
As long as Shane Bettenhausen still lives.
now that we are most likely approaching the end of this console cycle
who "won" this current generation
If it's the latter, Nintendo hands down. The former is a harder decision.

The only exclusive title that ever interested me was Fable
the 360 has remained a steady seller for 7 years
I feel pretty much the exact same way about the PS3, with Journey replacing Fable
