i still cant get over how ugly archie's coloring still is and the fact that people read it

and that the kinds of people who still read archie comics are also the people who tolerate at least one gay arc, bi-racial couple and i think at some point a trans-character?

I don't even see a problem with the cover

it's not exactly impressive or anything, but is pretty unoffensive

actually i still dont get how ugly the coloring in a LOT of professional comics are, just fucking look at starfire in the red hood series, a series which is created by one of the biggest comics publishers in the world and looks like deviantart circa 2004

well, I think she got to the writers somehow

    Burn it all down.

hasn't archie basically been using the same plot for about sixty years
if anything, this is a welcome change of pace.

On the other hand, that fucking cover.

see I'm looking at it and to me it looks no more nor less obnoxious than any other archie cover.

I guess I'm not a true archie aficionado though. (archionado?)

I thought archie was read by twelve year olds. At least, when I was twelve, that's who read archie.
Twelve year olds are relatively progressive, as a rule.

It's more the fact that it's another Lagace love triangle, which is a plot trope she can't seem to get away from.

    See; Archime.

Oh well, in that case, opinion validate- OH NO WAIT but archie has always been about a love triangle. That's, like, the central premise.

If anything, it proves that she's the right person for the job.

All I'm going to say on the matter is that I'd like to see her try something different, because reading the same story from the same author over and over again just annoys me to no end.

Then again, maybe I shouldn't have gone off of a gutcheck reaction in the first place.

    I dunno.

well no, I mean you're right - it's a dumb rut to get stuck in. But archie is by definition a dumb rut, so all I can really see when I look at that is the perfect confluence of artist and IP.

To be fair though, I think Archie has been trying to mix it up.

They did an Occupy Wall Street parody (albeit several months late) and they actually published a storyline where two gay characters got married.

But the print comic folks won't let her draw Archina's Nudity Bosoms into the main storyline. That removes many opportunities for Ronnie and Billy to get anime nosebleeds.

I've lumped those together with the Donald Duck comics. The two most widely-bought Disney comic publications in the German-speaking countries both feature regular Uncle Scrooge stories. One of those is primarily drawn by Italian artists, but Carl Barks and Don Rosa are clearly the most popular. I was a fan of Don Rosa as early as eight.

Penny & Aggie only sort of had a love triangle, so that counts, right?

    Although she only co-wrote that.
