have another picture of shelves
the top shelf is my shelf for Good Books
lotr, two Library of America collections of fantasy/sci-fi/horror (adding two collections of noir stories this week), a sherlock holmes collection, Book of the New Sun, the first three Marlowe books, the first three Parker books next to them, and then sjowall and wahloo and henning mankell's first novels, roseanna and faceless killers (respectively) (they are the forerunners to stieg larsson and really good). also a copy of Howard Zinn's Twentieth Century (just the parts of People's History that focus on that century) that i got at a punk show and Crime and Punishment
underneath that is my shelf for dresden files! next to those books is a stack of comics that i haven't put away yet
also there's other miscellaneous garbage (airsoft pellets, a first gen ipod nano, my DS, etc)
also tickets for an upcoming concert that i'm barely going to be sober for on the top shelf by LOTR/LOA

more bookshelves! the top shelf is for Good Books: LotR, Library of America collections (these two are american fantasy/horror/sci-fi stuff, i'm adding two noir collections this week), Chandler, Stark, some Swedish stuff that inspired Stieg Larsson, etc
the other shelf is for my dresden files books and comics i haven't put away yet

my friend told me this afternoon that we've basically been handed a reel big fish show this summer. the other guy that books shows here already did the hard part and got money together and shit, but he can't actually be there to run it so we're doing it
which is rad
not a huge fan of the band but fuck that's not a bad show to have your name on three months after you get started
at least not if you're booking ska and punk shows

so him booking a show and then saying "you guys promote it and handle the day of" is like

they still pull a decent crowd on nostalgia alone, which is good because that's about all they have going at this point
