I just want some variety. It seems like every romance in Avatar is telegraphed. Just once in Korra I'd like to see a relationship emerge right in the middle or even at the end of the show, rather than pop up at the beginning.
And maybe I'll get my wish, since there's nearly two seasons in Korra that we know of.
didn't we just have a ridiculous long argument with some folks insisting the TLA ending was weak because it wasn't telegraphed
and now you want less foreshadowing??
:bz: :bz: :bzz:

I prefer love stories where the couple initially hates each other and they're all ew gross not if you were the last person on earth and then they end up in an alien zoo where the aliens control their bodies like puppets and force them to have sex but the aliens don't really know about human sex so they keep doing it wrong

So...I have to say that I'm really enjoying it so far.
I was worried at first with the show being a one season deal, but at the same time it seems that since it is going to be shorter than the previous series it is a lot more tightly put together. I know the original avatar tended to have a lot of fluff but there hasn't been much of that so far in the first three episodes.
Watch it with my brother, he said it makes up for how terribad the movie was.

Oh hey Avatar day.
One of the rough riders used incendiary grenades.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I just hope Bolin gets some action before the show is over.
I felt a little sad for Toph when TLA ended and she was the only one of her friends not in a relationship.
to be fair she was like 12
Yeah, I know. It still sucks being in that position.
Are you kidding? From what I've seen Toph could be a total jerk, although it's understandible given her situation. Lovable jerk, but probably not ready for a relationship.

Oh god. I'm the opposite. Unnecessarily shoe-horning in relationship sub-plots into every story for every character as if somehow a character would be incomplete unless they have a boyfriend/girlfriend just rubs me the wrong way.
I liked how Sokka was handled in his relationships and the various love-interests that showed up for Katara but Aang/Katara didn't sit as comfortably. Those characters were really goddamn young and knowing their relationship at 12 and 14 would lead to marriage? Not something I'm into and it kinda weirds me out to know that some people are so invested in it.
Toph didn't need anybody. She's awesome all on her own, what use would she have for a boyfriend? She's only recently learned the power of friendship plus she's barely hit puberty.
Zuko/Mai only worked because of how hilarious they were together and how amazing the scene at the end of the Boiling Rock was.
12 and 14 is really not that weird, especially when all the kids are pretty mature for their ages

So...I have a question about the previous episode.
In TLA did they ever say that power-sealing was something that the Avatar and only the Avatar can do?
Also...it seems kind of weird that it was a big deal when Aang did it but Amon did it pretty easily. Maybe it had something to do with him having a much stronger will than the people he was using it on though.

also it was aang's first time and he was doing it to the fire lord
amon's possibly had a lot more practice
and they didn't say that it was something only the avatar could do but aang's definitely the only guy on record as having done it before as far as we know

I am 90% sure they are distinct techniques
Aang is taking the firebending energy out of Ozai
Amon just seems to be using an advanced form of chi blocking
when Aang spun the wheel of punishment and got his result, I misheard things
I thought he was sentenced to being oiled in oil
like a partial tar and feathering, I thought
I couldn't figure out why Katara and Sokka were so upset
you know tarring and feathering totally killed people right
like not every time but a good bit of the time
the tar was boiling hot
sure they might have been in agony and possibly died from the severe burns
but the feathering provided some good comic relief afterwards so on balance it really wasn't so bad
Just reminded me of that horrible episode of Liberty's Kids, then of the cruising for porn and seeing a link for Liberty's Kids porn which led to the smashing and gnashing and bleaching of eyes.
There's no rule that says an airbender can't play!!
Although I don't think air is equally suited to offense and defense.
well she already adapted the air bending movement style in the second episode, but after she earth bended they let her stay "so long as she solely bends water"

right up until they had to peel them off of their bare skin
though I guess that was easier what with there not being a lot of that left

members of the watching crowd were encouraged to save up their best poultry related zingers for just such occasions
"looks like frank's goose has been cooked!"
okay that one sucked but back in the olden days they spent months working on these
egg them on? so they'd be encouraged to get down to it?
these are just fowl

She's got a Vespa!

And then it turns out
Because they have a ship GET IT

"I guess what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander afterall"
tilts his tricorn into full investigation mode and exists camera left
What happens when east and west collaborate?
Magic.

god I love the rough rhinos
you know they're also a very capable singing group?
I hope there's a probending team by that name, and they're hated for being dirty players.
Yeah, I know. It still sucks being in that position.
The internet has taught me that no matter how cut n' dry romances are...people will still argue about them.

Puppy love does not automatically fix everything.

she's got decades ahead to worry about that stuff

MAYBE I'M PROJECTING A LITTLE, OKAY
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW

I'm never happy
Next you'll be telling me they've got old souls.
Well, with Aang you'd be right I guess.

I do like that his hoodie is one of those that zips up all the way and it has the blue spirit
But it's still probably not the best time for a serious relationship.
Of course the internet and people being what it is, Rule #34 always applies, as awful as it is.
