i just found out that fucked up did 4 7"s that are a prequel to david comes to life
2 that are about 2 characters each
one about the town and the factory
and the last is an epilogue that explains the end but i don't know how they need to explain the end because it was kinda "straightforward", david goes back to the beginning of the story so that he can see veronica again even knowing that she's doomed to die soon after they meet
anyway i'm listening to them and now i want to write a thing about david comes to life but totally ignore the batshit insane plot that everyone focused on when it came out and just write about how it's a perfect collection of songs about being in love
edit: hahahaha goddammit Octavio Made The Bomb is incredible, it's literally the band saying "here you dummies here's what we were trying to do"

shit yeah new TBR album title/date announced
wooooooooo
they rerecorded Mutilate Me for it which is good because that's probably my favorite thing they've done since Total
also that is the best album cover. not because of the design, because all of their albums are the logo on a solid background, but because that's a cool-ass color
Right now I am listening to a record I bought in Asheville last week
The Clash, live at the Jamaican World Music Festival in 1982
It's bootleg as hell apparently, and it makes me wonder where record stores get their stuff, because it's clearly brand new and was sealed and everything
I can't imagine bootleg record distribution is a big industry but whatever

The album fucking rules
it all depends on the thing
that is like
the only way i can explain it
there's a big market for shit like the clash but it really depends on the band and even the show
the one my mom's ex went to where the clash were literally too drunk to play? eh not so much
the one where tehy go up there and play incredible fuckin tunes nad generally be awesome? shit yeah

for a more modern example
dillinger four's live album is a bootleg recording that a guy made and then asked the band if he could sell it
because even though the show was terribly musically there was incredible banter and they kept calling pepole during the show to bug them
There are some people here who I have just found out I have musical tastes in common with!
For instance
Did you know that I once spent a whole summer doing nothing but A) being depressed drinking triple-espresso-shot-topped-with-coffees and C) listening to Blueberry Boat on endless repeat?
And also that Amadou and Miriam are fantastic live? (I don't have any dumb story to go with that one, sorry)
A few pages late but I did know this, because I saw them a couple of weeks ago!
High five!
