    Cispa passes the house.

Obama thread is most appropriate. Or resurrect the Congress thread.

Won't pass the Senate, will get Vetoed even if it does. Republicans had to know this was going to happen. Why they want to make themselves look even more out of touch is beyond me.

Who knew that my previous fake Romney quote wouldn't even be the most difficult thing that he would claim government would do when he was president.

So I've been hearing that Paul will receive at least half of the delegates in Washington state. This is following the same thing happening in Iowa and Minnesota. Apparently it could happen in many of the other caucus states as well.

Obviously he's not going to come close to catching Romney, but is there any chance that this could keep Romney from reaching 1144? Are some of the delegates being assigned to Paul ones that had previously been placed in Romney's column in various projections?

Basically, is there more hilarity to come?

The only way it can really do much is if Santorum endorses Paul rather than Romney, as he realizes that there's no way he'll get the VP nod from Romney and maybe just maybe a brokered convention gets him some power.

I was under the impression that those delegates are tied for at least the first round. So they might get there without mitt Romney having 1144, but he'd close the deal on the second round anyway.

During the bruising Republican primaries, there was one candidate whose coverage was more relentlessly negative than the rest. In fact, he did not enjoy a single week where positive treatment by the media outweighed the negative.

    His name is Barack Obama.

I'll laugh if Romney goes with Newt because that will put to rest any question of VA being a toss up. We'll go soundly for Obama, without any helping from slowly trending blue, our legislator reminding us that the GOP party is made up of back asswards fundies, Allen reminding us how shitty he was (seriously, the guy is running adds claiming Kaine is anti-VA for backing the President). Sadly, we'd still get bombarded with all the SuperPAC ads. ><

Hell, the house GOP might make a Romney/Gingrich ticket even more toxic if they do cause another government shut down before November.

-Now for something that can go in either this thread or the Obama thread. Boehner is claiming that Obama was out of land for stopping at colleges to get support for stopping the rate on student loans from doubling. He also said it was a manufactured issue and that Obama was misusing government funds to campaign. In short, Boehner pretty much said anyone with student is a third class citizen that the government should ignore or at least that's what I'm getting from it.

-So has anyone gotten around to getting all the silly GOP primary ads back up on youtube yet? I just want to watch the Republican response horribly backfire on them because they or their superPACs will try to get those offline under the grounds of copyright.

I would argue that all the bullshit the House GOP has pulled in the last year prove that Obama has learned from past mistakes and is now being proactive.

My impression is that pretty much everyone who's come into direct contact with Newt hates his guts, so I would guess he won't be on the ticket.

That Romney video . . . for the first few seconds I thought he was talking about actual, literal water. "Gee, at least he wants to clean up the environment!" I thought. Theeeen the other shoe dropped.

Rubio voted no on the Violence Against Women Act. Does that mean he doesn't want to be Romney's VP? Or are VPs able to get away with stuff like that?

Is it too late to make a historical joke?

Obama's assassination of a US citizen was obvious in hindsight. After all, he didn't condemn Henry II of England for rididng himself of the "Turbulent Priest" Thomas Becket. This also shoes that he wants to destroy Christianity!

Why would he vote against that? That just proves they aren't in Washington to get anything done.

I'd be very surprised if Rubio is picked as the VP. He's far too young and far too bland.

Also, he recently pissed off the teapers by unveiling his "Dream Act Without the Dream". He also does el zilcho at getting votes for Romney in Florida.

In 2008 I knew several idiots that were all about Palin, just because they thought she was hot. That was their only criteria.
