    no big.

TLB don't you review movies for a living or something like that?

    nope.

I have a blog about movies that I haven't updated since october and do a netflix screening every sunday night but I get zero dollars to do movie stuff

    I just know from movies.

They should send Fat Cobra against the Phoenix Force.

I was a fan of Dog Brother #1

    but I mean

if I had to pick 3 of the Weapons to survive

it would be the 3 that did

    CYpGAPn.png
  • The Lovely BastardThe Lovely Bastard Registered User regular
I could live without John Aman if it meant more Dog Brother #1

he had such a killer single issue in the immortal weapons issue that I want more of him

and I think Fat Cobra going out like a champ and hanging out in Valhalla for some reason would be great if it meant more Steel Serpent

so yeah I want Danny, Steel Serpent, and Dog Brother #1

it'd be the most interesting group, if not the most fun

    7656367.jpg
  • BlankZoeBlankZoe Registered User regular
Oh Steel Serpent is still alive

but he isn't an Immortal Weapon anymore, remember? Dude lost his power.

I keep forgetting he lost his powers when he got the egg guarding job

Such a lame job for Davos

I hope he secretly got some powers on the side somehow

best moment of the film, your spoiler. imo.

yeah so it's a good film. didn't expect it, but filling half of iron man 2 with an advert for this film ended up as worth it! i'd actually go as far as to say it was better than all the individual hero's films.

yeah hulk was my favourite without question, and I would agree with you on it being better than the most of the other movies easily

And I don't even especially care for the character we are discussing!

I also figure I enjoyed it the most of all of them so far, although I really like Iron Man.

    But in all seriousness
    it's a really bad haircut
Also I really enjoyed the line "I'm always angry" and I liked Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.

And - bearing in mind that this is all coming from someone who never really read the Avengers because they just weren't my bag - maybe it was too heavy-handed for some because it had to be done in two and a half hours, but I enjoyed how they built the team into a cohesive unit within the context of the movie. And I didn't think the banter was too frequent or too Whedony; I thought there was a nice balance of banter to actual non-bantery dialogue.

tony snark's stuff was a little whedony, but that felt natural. the rest of it was just fine by me. mark ruffalo's small voice and studious personality was excellent to contrast hulk, who felt to me like the most terrifying and powerful character in the film. captain america was extremely lovable, and
making tony push his buttons made him seem more of an asshole, not just a charmer, which i think is necessary.
the real achievement of the film to me is giving each character a challenge that felt appropriate to their abilities, and switching to each one to see how they are doing didn't lose the threat between each one. going from
captain america hanging off a plane by a rope being shot at felt as knuckle-whitening as iron man in the turbines or thor and hulk.
nobody felt like they were stooping low to a challenge or in over their head so much that they should just stay back and leave it to the heavy hitters.
