I saw some of the climatic scene of Piranahas about a week ago. That was hilarious. I've beeen pretty terrible with gross stuff in the past (the restaurant scene in Meaning of Life made me throw up), but Piranahs was absolutely hilarious. Wouldn't have paid to see it, and if they'd been an ad break, I would have left but still. Not scary by any stretch of the imagination, but supposed to sort of be? The film didn't seem to take itself seriously at all.

    This right here.

I had trouble sleeping for DAYS after the first time I saw this. Of course the fact that I'd been up for 30 hours and I was playing in the dark probably didn't help much.

If you're gonna post the big SS2 reveal, I gotta post this.

My plan for Sectoids is basically to hide in a cupboard until they walk by, then stab them in the head.

My plan for Chryssalids is just to lie down and cry.

There was like a 10-minute sizzle reel of Piranha 3D that was shown at one of the cons before release and got leaked, and someone posted it here

It was the most vile, sickening thing I've ever seen and it made me completely swear off ever even contemplating the idea of seeing it (or the sequel)

It also made me a little actively mad at the filmmakers, somehow

did that make it into the dvd release? I don't remember it happening, but I hate watching gore porn so it could've went down when I was averting my eyes

this little write up by one of the people behind a softer world covers what little about the movie is interesting

    Problematic and awesome: Piranha (2010)

edit: except he says it's awesome and I'd be inclined to disagree on that point

You know what I found great as a scary film, or at least a film with scary bits. The Host. That Korean film. Granted, that's pretty funny and nonsensical a lot of the time, but it still had some bloody scary moments. Or at least, I thought it did. I saw it a while ago when it came out in cinemas.

I saw it and I thought it did some things really well, especially for a twist on the traditional monster movie.

I can't say it scared me much though, things need to be at least somewhat believable for that.

Probably! Maybe not the random grunts, though. So there's a chance your mind won't be horribly violated. Maybe.

No, Malcolm McDowell is a hell of a man, don't get me wrong. But he ain't really in what you'd call good movies. Especially not good horror movies. He's a lot like Donald Pleasence in a way.
