Speaking of Kickstarter projects I have absolutely nothing to do with and that inexplicably don't have their own threads, the Grim Dawn (aka "the spiritual sequel to Titan Quest", aka "the game with a name so generic you forget it the moment after you say it") kickstarter has hit its initial funding goal with 11 days left.
Fuuuuuck yes! Just coming in here to say this. I'm very excited for Grim Dawn. Hope they can cover some ground in their remaining time.
EDIT: Also, Tycho linked the kickstarters only draft rules for Mobile Frame Zero from the main page?
Just wanted to pop by and say thanks for mentioning Drifter! I also hope it reaches its goal
My pleasure, man. You're looking pretty good for it at the moment. You get extra love from me for mentioning Frontier first, as that's the game I invested obscenely large chunks of my childhood into. Thanks for making this!

Not sure how "kickstarters only" something can be when it is freely accessible from your website and there is a link to it on your front page. (Via the latest comments area.)
Kickstarter is not doing themselves any favors in terms of quelling peoples concerns by allowing such an obvious prank project on their site.
What? That $300 backer level is pure value.
Yeah Im totally fascinated by this thing now. The Edit he recently made? Yeah, you see its evolution in the comments revealing he basically did next to NO research on price (and still hasn't even considered kickstarter fees).
His kickstarter video on his youtube page is a rambling mess. Im not saying Kickstarter videos all have to have super great production values, but his isn't even thought out. He just... rambles and its clear that he did no research. As for the martial arts training... he 'demos' his martial arts 'skills' on his channel and... ummm... he's not very good. At all.
I'll be honest. For a moment, I thought this might be some sort of risky but very inventive trailhead for an ARG, but A) the funding goal is FAR too low - I think you COULD trailhead an ARG on kickstarter, but youd have to have a high enough funding goal that it can not possibly be reached in the time frame before the Cancellation Event and His youtube is totally devoid of anything interesting. I tend to see trailheads everywhere due to my time on Unfiction.
Really, I think its just a really clueless guy. Even a scam would have put in more effort
Amazing last couple of hours. A week ago it was struggling to even reach 50% and now it's funded. Crazy. I can't believe how much went into it in just the last three days.
Guess I better go edit my post from last week saying it wasn't going to get funded.
That's cool. I already pre-ordered, and son't need a tshirt or poster so I get to sit this one out. Fast start looks like they'll have no trouble meeting their goal and then some.
Drifter's getting close to 30k and I really hope it keeps ticking upwards.
What do you mean close to?
So, just to check something, when you talk about the massive, procedurally-generated, 100,000 light-year-spanning galaxy and that, the player is free just to point their ship off into space and fly off? There's no invisible space walls or nonsense like that?
Also, for my own curiosity and I don't think I see it mentioned anywhere, is the camera always external to the ship, or will there be some kind of 'mounted to the nose' perspective?
And lastly, congratulations for breaking 30,000!

The systems can't be flown between because they'd be too far apart for the relativistic drives your ship uses to fly in-system. Interstellar travel happens via a hyperspace jump drive, the maximum distance is determined by drive power and your ship's mass. That said what I mean about the size of the galaxy is that it's 10,000+ stars scaled across a diameter of 100,000 light years, here's a screenshot of that: http://celsiusgs.com/images/stuff/galaxy.png
A lot of people have asked about a first person view, so I've added it to the to-do list
Thanks!

It'll be interesting to see if Kickstarter cancels that one. It's also interesting to see that currently they have $13.37 raised for it. Pretty leet.

EDIT: @Viking and @Dinosaurs figured out the game by the way
Its Pong
RPG/strategy game, Gameplay looks like it has similarities to King's Bounty, or Disciples.

Gary Owens alone guarantees my backing.

I've looking forward to this as well, since I saw it on the Banner Saga's update page.
The makers have described it as being more RPG heavy than HoMM or Disciples, which sounds good to me.

He cancelled it about ten hours ago, at 13.37 dollars. Nice.
Except this one is already 30% funded so there's a good chance it could get funded. At least you can get a splat book out of this.
Pathfinder has a weirdly rabid fanbase
The average backing on that project right now is $90
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
