In for 1. Likely will pick up during a forumer event.

    I'M HALPING!

The preferred style is open for debate, but it should be a standard 16 oz pint, or close to it.

I'd like to throw my support behind an Imperial Pint Size Glass. Because PAX is big, our steins should be too! (For those not in the know, Imperial Pints are 20oz rather than 16.)

Here's the rationale behind the standard 16oz glass:

Shipping for glassware is expensive. Glass is heavy and needs to be packed in a large-ish box with plenty of packing materials. 20 oz glasses could cost up to $20 per glass to ship using the cheapest post office option.

Folks who are coming in from out of town and picking up their steins at PAX would also need to figure out how to safely pack their massive, massive stein to take home, and I'd have to figure out how to lug the damn things through downtown and into the convention.

The glasses were also going to be used on the SchlitzKrieg. It would be great if we could use them on the tour, but the breweries have agreed to give us pints & tastes, not imperial pints & tastes.

Lastly, there's always the possibility that these could be engraved with the year and possibly collected over a number of PAXes. You'd need a whole cabinet for 20oz pints.

Maybe for future efforts there could be multiple sizes for the mugs to order, but since this is the first time I'm doing this and I'm already committed to a couple of large PAX efforts, I'd like to keep it simple with a single product this time around.

Appreciate the thought on shipping. We are coming in from MI and we would have to have ours shipped.

Fair enough, I figured "20oz" is close to 16 oz and thereby met the requirments ;). My bad.
Also, I do have a huge cabinet for large beer glasses, doesn't everyone? (I should stop assuming people made bad life decisions regarding kitchenware like I have, shouldn't I!)

It's definitely an option. The company @koalabro2 recommended has both pint glasses and steins. I thought the pint glasses just felt too... I dunno... like TGI Friday's promotions. That's just me though.

Anybody want a regular pint glass instead? Put it to an online vote?
    (No pilsner/ale glasses. Too fragile.)

If you're conern is the originality, you may want to go with something less like the straightwall stein (they've got a maritime stein that's pretty nifty as well as ye olde fashion mason jar, whose demo is from a resturant not to far from me...anyway).

(What do yo mean "No Ale glasses?" Ale is supposed to be served in a standard glass Unless you mean "Snifter" or Chalice style (which have been catching on for IPAs and such.)

Edit @LexiconGrrl Oh, no complaints on the Wall of Text, I just felt no reason to leave it in there for a short post. I hope I didn't offend! (That just seemed more informative of what I did than "SNIP")

    Further Edit!!
Oh I see, they have improperly labled some Pilsner glasses as Ale glasses. Bad, bad bad, glass maker. If it's long and narrow it's a Pilsner glass. If it's stout it's an ale glass! (Also I've noticed that some of the "16OZ" glasses say "23 oz" when you actually click on them. Go figure.
I really wish they could cast a d20 into one of these: http://www.customglassware.com/printed-sports-bottom-pilsners.html (Also that's one that said 16 until you clicked on it.)

That'd be a full pint of WIN.

I checked. They don't carry them but I'm poking around the Libbey customer service now...

Are the standard pint glasses glass? It looked like on their site they only had plastic available.

That's exactly why I asked. I am replacing my entire glass collection with local breweries' pint glasses. This one would be perfect.

But I can see the TGI Friday'sness.

It would probably not be a whole lot more expensive to add etching to the bottom of each glass (maybe 50-75 cents per glass?). I'd be totally happy to pay extra to have a d20 greeting me at the end of my beer.

I forget that USA pints are smaller than ours by 1 fifth! That makes the beer trip much more doable! I really like the glass stein, prefer glasses with handles, cos then I can hold them in either hand, can't without a handle.
