Is there a way to play the second round on Pro when the first round was on Normal?
Nope
Gotta make a seperate file.
...fuck
I really don't want to go back to having just a standard handgun and shotgun
It's way too easy from the start with all your upgraded weapons.
Even on professional.

I never got the shotgun in the first part of the game. I actually backtracked later I believe in order to get it. I just killed all of the dudes with a knife at the front entrance to the town, and then was too freaked out and/or low on ammo to investigate any buildings. My friend told my later when I was asking if it was worth it to buy the shotty.
Doing it this way means you never have to fight a chainsaw person on your first entrance to the town, but I would not recommend it, as you run out of ammo quickly, and have to become extremely good with the knife.
I thought that too, but the game just loses something when you can just snipe from a distance without worrying about anything. Especially in the Village, when the whole scary component is when you become surrounded by the enemy.
I camped outside the village twice. Call me crazy, but when there's a village full of insane spaniards my instinct steer away from the "run into the middle of the town!" tactic
-run to the house with the shotty
-go upstairs, grab grenade out of case
-grab shooty
-run across room, grab shotty ammo
-go through window leading to the roof
-run to chimney (right one, i think), grab pistol ammo
-turn around to face the house, and run along the roof on the left side of the house
-turn corner, there should be a small section of roof with a spinel on it
-stand on top of roof, and laugh as all the guys bottleneck at the corner
-throw grenade when dr salvador comes, and blast him the fuck away with whatever you have
fuck, you can beat the first town without getting touched like this, even on professional, and you get the cash money bonus from salvador even

See that is how I looked at it. I am not going to run right into that shit, I'll stand my ground and kill them.

If you want to avoid the Dr. Salvador all you have to do is not hole up in that building. You can go get the shotgun after everybody leaves. It's worth killing him for his money though.

So I need a final verdict on the controls of the Wii version of this game. Better or as good as PS2? I am looking for a low-priced game to tide me over until NCAA Football 2008.

The controls are excellent. RE4Wii is easily the best version of the game in every aspect. And yeah, you can still use a controller too if you want.
i don't understand the mentality to not want to kill as many people as possible in the opening
Because the chief rule in all Resident Evil games to date has always been "don't waste ammo"
In Resident Evil 2, do you try to kill the dozen or so zombies in front of you when you first start the game? Fuck no! You run past them because they're slow!

GO IN THE HOUSE! THAT'S WHAT THE NORMAL PEOPLE DO!
I mean it's not like you have to stay in the house once you've got the shotgun
-go upstairs, grab grenade out of case
-grab shooty
-run across room, grab shotty ammo
-go through window leading to the roof
-run to chimney (right one, i think), grab pistol ammo

You could also just not turn the system on.
Wait what is this?
he gets hog wild in that house you find the shotgun in
or so I've heard
Wait the chainsaw guys are called Dr Salvador??
i didn't know either until i saw him being refered to as such on here
and then the cage
OH GOD
Oh, cool. That game is so damn hard.
it's not really better or worse, though. the aiming is faster for me, but i suck at FPS games with analog sticks
it takes some getting used to at firs
especially considering that if, for whatever reason, you don't like Wii aiming, you can use the classic controller or a GC controller anyway

I did try.
by killing people your ammo is constantly replenished.
