I hated Drew Carey. Absolutely loathed it.
Couldn't even tell you why. It just bothered me on some deep level.
News Radio? Are you fucking serious comparing that to The Office? Maybe News Radio is more like Spin City or something like that, but The Office is just a whole different level.
I liked the English version of the office more, probably because it was the first one, written by the guy responsible for the idea... The humor was more subtle, a bit more cringe worthy too.
I also liked the fact that it had a definate story line with all the trimmings... a begining and an end. Enough of this bullshit where you just produce episode after episode untill it isn't as popular anymore.
Not at all, you cant understand them through their thick accents half the time.
Watch dwight and try and argue he's not the best character to grace the office in any country ever. You can't, can you?
Umm... I hardly count your inability to understand an english accent as reason why one would be better than the other... It adds to the subtlety. And Gervais is just awesome, Carol is a hack... ok, not really, but I just love Gervais style... it's so, hard to watch... which in the case of the Office, is just perfect.
I love monty python too, and I generally use close captioning while viewing.
The UK and US versions are completely different. The UK version I sat through and watched and loved every moment of, and the ending was fantastic, but I can't just go back and watch it whenever, it was just so much more of a mini-series rather than a show.
The US version still has an underlying storyline, but that's not the focus. The focus is on each and every episode being an absolute riot.
It's that simple.
Edit: But Monty Python sucks. Not because of the accents, it's just not funny unless you force yourself to laugh.

hey man don't shit on this guy's thread!!!!!
I like FotC but I don't think you'll find much interest round these parts.
They're like a less offensive Tenacious D.
also
is he crazy???
Um....
*cough*
Which is actually a good thing.
It's like I have the three stooges syndrome.
nyuk nyuk nyuk
Outta my way chowdah head
But the office is just seems more well rounded.
The 'I think I figured out why she left, she was freaked out when you turned on the lights' bit had my laughing really hard though.

I also preferred drew carey when he was the kid from Christmas story.
i literally thought they were all the same show and they just kept changing the name.
I prefered drano better when he was called uriel.
Edit: that was a low blow.
Is that true? That's not true... is it?
He was just saying they look alike.
i bet it was.
once i remember who uriel is i'm sure i'll be even more steamed.
I thought it was.
But it wasn't, you've been deceived.
The guy who was the kid ended up.. doing a whole lot of nothing. Perennial guest star.
But another of the actors (Zack Ward) ended up in Transformers and BLOODRAYNE THE SEQUEL.
The gods waited long to deliver vengeance upon him, but it has come. Uwe Boll will spell his doom.
it's only on episode five right now

Why can't you people?
