you all seem to be talking about things other than both dungeons and dragons in a similar plane of existence
Hey, remember the time our sorcerer basically one hit a red dragon?
That man was insane.
nah he didn't come close
he just got a redonk crit because raid buffs+ vulnerability
that dragon has like 300k hp or something silly
and once I started getting greensteal weapons and epic gear, I would crit for 40-50ish dmg+ roughly 100 backstab damage every attack
he took it from like 2/3rds to 0. the fight wasn't even getting started and then "oh, i guess, i guess it's dead now?"
he only did about 2k damage
you are misremembering!
man, all i remember is the barrier had been up for like 20 seconds and it was done. even the people who ran the thing many times where like "this is the fastest i have ever seen that happen. What the fuck did you do?" and Naboo was just like "I got a critical hit?"
I do remember people thinking he did it with incinerate.
Only thing i can think of like that in normal rules is vorpal weapols, where if you roll a natural twenty and critical on the confirm it's a decapitation or something? or was it critical and 20 on the confirm?
I'm sure if i got it wrong pip will correct me.
I know that sounds passive aggressive, but it's actually really useful to have pip around for this kind of thing.
i was just stating our house rule. because rolling multiple criticals (unless you were building something that could crit on a 15) was rare and awesome.
So hey, they added Forgotten Realms to Eberron, for some reason.
Probably to compete with the neverwinter game coming out some day.
Anyway, druids are in the game now, and so are artificers.
Anyone interested to reviving the old PA guild Can't Ever Stop Pooping?
I have a desktop arriving via FedEx tomorrow, er today. I'm going to have to give this a download if my bard is still around.
I guess this means my bard's originally mocked Sword Coast origins, were actually canonical. I'll at least need to change it back from Coruscant.
I think I maxed favor with stuff cause i was doing the super hard dungeon runs cause I could put shit into enchantments
but if i wanted to max my enchantment stuff more i had to like do a thing where my character started at lvl 1 again but when he would reach 20 he had extra points or something but i was like fuck that
I would say the game plays like a fantasy MMO. with cool down hotkeys for abilities and such.
Most gameplay revolve around a party working through DnD encounters and small dungeon quests. D&D stuff is in full effect with traps, skill checks, narrators, and class abilities.
Companion AI is ok. You could do much of the game solo on easier difficulties. if you needed to. Most people have a bunch of characters at a variety of levels, so you could probably find someone in the guild to roll with, if this gets started up.
Someone on the first page on the thread said it well- this game more is about the challenge of dungeoning and a bit less about the grind. I would say it's still an MMO though.
i have forgotten how you start people at level 4 after unlocking that thing, so now i have a level 1 druid kicking around if anyone wants to hang out some time, do some stuff
Edit: oh it seems that you can't do vet status with new classes. This makes sense.
It's not a huge list i admit, but i mean, do you really exect them to do dinosaurs? (yes)
Also animal form mostly act like buss, like bear is +2 con and a buff to AC largely. but you can cast in animal form with no feat, but the cool down on non animal form spells are increased by (or to?) 2.5 times, but there is a enhancement that cuts it down to 1.5. you also get an animal companion for free. the spell selection at secodn level isn't the best, but it's not bad.
Pretty solid over all. I'm soloing shit easier then i did with cleric.

so glad they made it an optional thing in pathfinder
I got to do that to a black dragon once.

Coulda sworn it was in a sidebar in 3.0
and vorpal is a to hit roll of 20 and then a confirmed crit would kill anything that had "head" that could be severed
also, the way we handled multiple criticals is we just kept adding in the multipliers. In the end i guess it has similar effects?
it was
1. threaten crit
2. roll to confirm
3. roll damage
and that was it
it's why weapons have different crit modifiers

Sometimes I get very very upset with the AI companion dudes for blowing.
I could be talked into playing it with people.
i had some kind of fighter guy
i remember pip tripping traps a lot
If dayZ wasn't so goddamn good I'd jump back in this
do they still do the whole micotransaction thing ($$$ for quest packs, favored soul, warforged etc etc)
Yup.
Although you can unlock a certain amount of content without having to spend anything, I don't remember what though.

you can in theory unlock them is favour, but you need 150 favour with the house cannith faction and the current max is 99.
