Also, what is up with the page select drop down being in the middle of the bar? That is just weird.
so you can choose a specific page that is not in the stunted bar (i.e., page 1 or <previous 5 pages>)
My question isn't about the drop down itself. That's been there for a while in Vanilla. What confuses me is having it jump around on the bar instead of staying to one side like it used to be.

I for one, like the draft feature (love it actually) and the wall of users at the bottom is neat. I like it.
And . . . I'm a level 3 forumer!? I feel so . . . accomplished?

So how does clicking "Awesome" work now? Obviously it won't send it to the Awesome Posts forum because... I don't see it right now? Also because multiple people clicking it would do... I don't know what under the old system. Just kind of curious about what it does now.
But I should also probably be going to bed.
there's a tab in the best of page that does that
So the more Awesomes a post gets, the higher it shows up? But it doesn't enable users to provide context for posts anymore, and how long until the same few posts just sit on top because everyone reads it and clicks "Awesome" as well? Or is there some sort of script that will allow posts to fall down the Awesome list after a certain amount of time?
I'm sort of wondering if it goes to the "Awesome Posts?" forum.
That could get annoying.
I am testing this
Well looks like the awesome posts forum is gone so....
very honestly? I don't mind that it's gone
the Awesome Posts forum was way better on the old forums, but since the switch to the new ones it's like people have no freakin' idea what constitutes a post worth reporting
and rather than unify the subforums like the old ones did, the new ones kinda polarized them a bit
I'll hold off on voting until things settle down a bit, but I really dislike the agree/disagree system and possibly the cheevo system as well. I don't like that agrees/disagrees are displayed on profiles, because it isn't actually very useful information except in extremes, but people will recognize those sorts of posters just through experience, and it feels like a meaningless bit of number pride, like your forum k/d ratio or something. In order not to clutter up posts I'd rather it didn't show little avatars for each person agreeing, but just an anonymous net number or the number + and -, with the list of people agreeing available to that poster only (I don't even know if this is within the purview of our neighborhood staff, but it's the way I'd prefer the system to work if it's going to stick around) because I can see it being useful for signups, as someone mentioned. Or alternatively if it just wasn't a universal thing but something that had to be toggled on when making a post (like disabling smileys) and in limited use.
As for cheevos, I think "first comment" and 10 or 50 comments are a little extraneous, and if there's badges for all sorts of things people don't really need to be doing it'll encourage people to do pointless little things to acquire them which will either be annoying or cause more work for mods. Edit: I like our forum because of community and communication, and I'm leery of it having some kind of trivial metagame.
Posts
yeah me neither.
I was just agreeing with a lot of posts, and then boom, i get punished by The Man.
+1s all around!
I want you to know that when I click disagree here it means that I think you are actually a SSJ 2 at best
Well looks like the awesome posts forum is gone so....
sometimes someone will make a post I like but I just aint bothered to respond
give them to me
I bet I could get a lot of people to "agree" this if I just admitted to being a huge cunt too.
As if I even had to say that, haha!

nah it's just dsecribing how i play fighting games
Clearly the way to solve this is by a squat-shouting contest.

Am I weird for feeling like I've stumbled into a twitter conversation every time I see @xxxxx getting thrown around?
Make you feel a false sense of importance.
No.

Also, boycotting the agree/disagree features because this isn't fucking reddit for fuck's sake.
I have 0 anniversary badges despite joining in 2006.
