well the point of it is that having an honest conversation about rape has to include rapists
But it's impossible to talk about the reasons people rape without involving rapists in the discussion.
Some of them are tough to read, but their brutal honesty effectively illustrates how a lack of communication and education perpetuates rape culture.
just posting their reasons/experiences and instantly recoiling in disgust, while understandable, is not terribly useful and is counter to the goal at hand
I was talking to a friend about this and about why rape jokes arent exactly super ok yet jokes about murder are fine. Its because murder is a completely recognised taboo and we understand exactly what it is, so making light of it is an obvious joke. Whereas rape is often a case of the rapist, hell even the victim, not knowing its rape, and so making light of it just further muddies the water and perpetuates a culture in which its ok, or acts of sexual assault and rape arent actually thought of as 'real rape', especially amongst young kids.
