they sell some pretty nice wand holders, my wand came with one when i bought it at the Ren Faire earlier this year

DEAR GOD SIR! You have my wand! My exact wand! I bought mine at a ren fest as well in Colorado!! Was the seller of yours also a kind old man with very silvering hair who passed out small red feathers to passerby as phoenix feathers?!

    I should go.

Also, thank you to everyone for the tips in attire, after thinking about heat and how much of a wimp I am about it (I live the in equivalent of the arctic circle in Wyoming) I will go with short everything and only one layer! I will also be wearing flats and some leggings under my skirt since I am not the most graceful when drunk!

    I should go.

Skirts for muscled legs can be hard to find, but they're out there. My gf does jiu jitsu and it can be interesting to go shopping with her.

I spent two hours in Goodwill, and close to three going between Target, Wally world, Marshals, Kohls, TJ Max. I found nothing that worked with my pale well muscled legs. *shrugs* oh well.

    fishnets work pretty well too.

if you do decide for black cargos, make/get a tactical wand holder that strap to your thigh. Then do western wand draws with people.

How to tell when you've been too active in your friends cosplaying: when dressing other people begins to get exciting.

KellyShepard, I have pretty muscular legs too. Get some fish net leggings to go with the skirt and it will help "shrink" your legs a bit so they look not as masculine. I'd suggest buying the fish nets then going to stores and trying the skirts on if your unsure how it will look. Also don't get the fishnets with the bigger holes go for the smaller ones if possible.

One final order of business - we have open positions at Head Girl and I believe House Elf. Please PM me if you are interested. My preference for Head Girl would be a veteran of the team.
    Thanks!!

Edit: Looks like we do have our super-awesome House Elf back in the mix. The opening for head girl is still relevant.

Also, how many bars do we all go to again and do we know which ones? My sister is manager at a bar and was wondering if we stop by there.

If it's like last year, 5 stops, 4 different bars, starting and stopping at the same location.
Atlus hasn't released the routes yet, but last year Ravenclaw OotP went: Unicorn, Barca, Clever Dunne's, Grim's, then back to Unicorn.

List is refined every year, but if your sister doesn't know then chances are her bar isn't one of them. Atlus has generally informed all of the bars in the past ahead of time so that they would be prepared. Which bar does she manage?

    arwen_doll16_LOTRarwen_doll16_LOTR Commander Registered User regular
She manages the bar at Sullivan's Steakhouse. I realize that this would not be a bar that we would stop at most likely because it is also mostly restaurant but if there is a stop close by then she wanted to say hello =)

    I should go.

That's a bit out of the way from the crawl. We mostly stick to Capitol Hill, specifically the Pike/Pine corridor.

Finished the first book tonight, should finish the second one either tonight or tomorrow. If the movies are any indicator, I can only believe there's an exponential increase in story quality/story telling over the course of the books.

Hufflepuff Deatheater, btw. Would be going with a Fat Friar costume, but I already came up with a different concept I want to build the costume for before I decide if it's worthwhile.

Funny, I assumed I was going to be the only one who hadn't read the books. I started reading the first one before bed last night, and I should finish it tonight. They seem to be pretty quick reads.

Haven't seen the movies either (beyond the first one, at least), but I'm probably going to skip those.

The books are very quick reads. The disjointed feeling in the first book (it was literally written in snippets on cocktail napkins after all) goes away in subsequent books, and by the time you get to the fifth or sixth book, it's almost as if it was written by a Real Author (tm).

Having said that, the TWDT is probably 5% based on the books and 95% based on chronic alcoholism.

Are there any sample score cards, or pictures of score cards from years past? It suddenly occurred to me that I have no idea what I'm getting into. I saw the rules for duels in the OP, but how does all that work? I'm sure this is all somewhere really obvious and I'm just missing it, but if someone can point me in that direction I'd very much appreciate it.
