Almost all yeast breads take at least a few hours to make (mine take about 24 hours start to finish, but with only 15 minutes or so of labor), so if you "want" homemade bread it usually takes a little planning, unlike when you want chocolate chip cookies which can be prepped and baked in about 30 minutes for near-instant gratification.
