In regards to rumours about the addition of co-op, the developer stated that fans will “have to wait and see”.
McMillen is aiming to bring the title to all consoles, including OUYA “if the publisher wants to do it”, and says that “the console version of isaac will feature A TON of new modes, bosses, items, playable characters, co-op and a million other things we couldnt do in the flash version.”
I'm guessing that the rumors are about what the co-op consists of... find it hard to picture the same game with two characters running around the same screen.

Man BoI would be perfect on the 3DS, got your stick for moving and face buttons for shooting, bottom screen for all your hearts and items and whatever. Plus as a bonus the 3D would make it look like you were peering down into the rooms.
Of course rather unlikely as it's not exactly family friendly.

It'd have to be one of those features where an extra player can join in, but gets dragged along wherever player 1 is going.
Edit: Not at all surprised Nintendo turned it down. Even in the cartoony style, the content just seems a little too... questionable for Nintendo's image.
Because if you're going to attempt to squeeze that big black monster into your slot you will need to be able to take at least 12 inches or else you're going to have a bad time...

I had a Samson run going, where I was only catacombs 2 and had flying, polyphemus and quad shot, 3 health, a bunch of soul heart, and the habit. And the door to a challenge room didn't unlock after I cleared it.
Fucking buggy game.

Like, not the ingame stat, but rather the item rolls themselves.
I must have played about 100 shell games.
got almost nothing but keys and coins.
I was tempted to throw my chair but I got two eternal hearts from it and ended up getting a health upgrade anyway, so whatevs.
Also I love getting skatole and then fighting an enemy that does nothing but shoot flies at you.
