The Battle of The Bulge began yesterday.
250,000 German troops have slammed into the quiet area of the Allied lines through the forested Ardennes, catching the tired and inexperienced forces there completely off-guard. As many Americans fall back or die, confusion reigns. Units either surrender or disappear totally under the great assault. Hitler's last gamble to win the war has started off well.
A group of disorganized and tired American troops from differing units gather at a farmhouse near a bridge behind the lines to take shelter and try to figure out what may need to be done. There are rumors of Germans soldiers in US uniforms, sowing confusion and fear in the ranks.
Soon, the Captain in command decides the bridge here is too important to both sides to abandon. The GI's are told they will blow the bridge in the morning if German troops come near, which they almost certainly will. Blowing it up before the Germans arrive, though, may hamper Allied efforts in a counter-attack, so it will only be eliminated if it has to be.
Certain members of the quickly-thrown-together platoon are not happy with the possibility of a destroyed bridge but they have ways to keep this from happening. They have their orders, which must be obeyed. Much different from the orders the Americans are following. Many of the GI's here will not see the sunrise.
What’s all this then?
This is a mini Phalla for 25-30 players based on the last German attempt to win WWII in the West.
Each real day will represent an hour of game time, as the events will all take place in one night.
General rules of Phalla can be found here. New players are welcome as are old of course.
Standard Phalla Rules/Mechanics:
You must vote each day. Vote in bold red for whomever you think is likely to be a threat to you. The winner of the vote will be eliminated every night.
In addition, everyone should make at least two one post each day. Failure to vote or contribute will lead to warning and replacement.
Vote close is 11:00 PM EDT. All votes and actions at 10:59 PM EDT and before will be counted, while any submitted on or after will not.
Do not directly quote anything from PMs with me, or take screenshots of them. It is okay to paraphrase role PMs however.
Do not anonymously contact anyone.
When you die you may make one ghost post which cannot contain any game information whatsoever. After that please do not discuss the game with anyone still alive.
Ask for clarifications in Bold DarkOrange. You can always PM me with clarification requests, or post them directly in the thread. If you have questions about your role you should probably use the PM method to avoid giving away info to the other players.
Make sure you invite me to any proboards you might form as well as any PMs. Do not add other players to PM conversations.
