Permission Problem

jdixon1972jdixon1972 Registered User regular
Hi guys. I hope you can help. Over the past few days I have been having a problem getting into the forums. I always go to the Pax East site and the click on the forum link and all is usually fine. Not now, however. Every time I do that, it says Permission Problem, You don't have permission to do that. It does this on IE, Chrome, and Fire Fox. The only way I can get into the forums now is if I do a Google search for Pax Forums and then use that to go directly in. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried resetting options on all three and that doesn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can't see anything at all with your account that would be causing that. Hopefully some other people will chime in if they're having a similar problem and we can narrow it down. Right now my hunch is that it's either a cookies or cache problem.

Looks like the Forums links in the headers of both the PAX Prime and PAX East sites are bad. They both point to http://forums.penny-arcade.com/categories/pax-the-penny-arcade-expo. This is probably due to the recent reorganization of the PAX subforum(s).

@jdixon1972: If I were you I would use the Forum link off of the Penny Arcade site (http://www.penny-arcade.com/) or, better yet, just bookmark http://forums.penny-arcade.com/ or http://forums.penny-arcade.com/categories/pax-general-discussion

I misread the op, thanks for the catch @agilemania. the problem here is just that the pax site links haven't been updated yet.

There could theoretically still be an issue with cache. When not logged in, I can get to the PAX Archive just fine (to view it), without a permissions problem, so I don't see why he should have a permissions issue viewing it.

Just an update, if this helps. I can't use the forum link on the PAX East site at work or on my cell phone either. This is driving me nuts!

You should bookmark the top level forum index, or the new PAX index. Clear your cache, etc. The links will be update on the pax sites soon, but we don't control that, so as a stopgap measure, use a different link.
