And back on topic. Yeah. Popcorn. I love internet meltdowns, but I always wince at the same for since I know there's always real people caught up in the backlash.
"This all stems from a sub reddit of creeps who take creepy photos of women and post them online (without their consent). This quite rightly alarmed some people and pissed other people off."
I will say that in my opinion, these cases of kids being cyber bullied are probably just part of the process of adapting to a new social landscape and down the road there'll just be a different problem kids will have to deal with that they didn't face before. I'm certainly not defending the crap, but I think it's easy to lose perspective and forget some of the awful shit that kids went through in other generations.

I'm not the biggest fan of memes but if I wasn't at work, I'd be posting that picture now.
I suppose now that I have two neices I have to worry about this shit.
There's a pretty high chance that I would track down any shitbags like this and utterly crush them but I hope laws and schools(ha!) will adapt in the next decade and teach kids some responsibility so it can be prevented entirely.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

there was a post i saw yesterday that i can't find now which was basically
'if you don't expect us to have any privacy re: having our pictures taken without our consent in public, to be used sexually
then don't expect to have any privacy online when you post those pictures and we trace you.'
I'm not sure I trust these internet detectives to really do a proper job of investigating or making sure they got the right guy before they start posting information online.

I would honestly hire a professional if my endgame was legitimately outing these people and then only for proper legal action.
That said if they get mad when people use their own bullshit against them Im not going to have any pity for them.

this is what happens when internet slapfights escalate and spill into real life
This is basically the equivalent of your older brother grabbing your hand and hitting you with it while asking you, "why do you keep hitting yourself, huh? you're only doing this to yourself"
Yeah, thanks for suggesting that I was asserting that the two acts are trivial in how bad they are instead of, say, simply comparing how immature it is to do something to someone and them blame them for it while taunting them.

The thing is, how do the mods on reddit not think the whole idea of taking photo's of women without their consent and publishing it on the internet isn't a massively bad idea.
What I'm saying is that they need a CT style of mod.
The admins of reddit use the excuse of free speech to avoid doing any moderation at all of the subreddits, which means the people who make them have complete control and freedom to be shitbags until they get enough negative publicity.

Yeah, I really appreciate the iron fist moderation here, compared to other forums I browse where mods are terrified of doing anything other than giving warnings, not even infractions.
Also that Amanda Todd story is the saddest thing I've read all week

"But I never claimed to be on the side of Angels, have I?"
This made my whole head explode with ironic dynamite.

This sounds like a huge bluff but even still, that's pretty fuckin bad

Reddit is a massive shit hole
Posting photos of other people without their consent on a website millions view sounded like a huge bluff too, and then they actually did it.
Basically, I would no longer put anything past them.
Steam
haha yeah just keep on doing your thing
I think massive shit hole is an understatement in this case
To my understanding, its taking a photo of an unsuspecting girl and then posting it on the internet without her consent.
Jesus Christ.
