Blue beetle is a very good comic despite whatever bullshit Munch may spout

I used to be indifferent to the character and even praised the book occasionally, but you know what? Everyone constantly harping on about how much I must hate the book and the character and the writer and Dan Didio and his grandma have made me hate that completely mediocre rag more than I ever could have by myself. The dialogue's shit, the art's average, the plot wanders aimlessly (what the fuck happened with the Posse? Or La Dama? Or that magic baby? Oh hey, who the fuck cares because look, aliens!), filler issues and two-page guest appearances to boost sales abound, and the character is a one-dimensional smart ass that for some reason everyone in the DCU loves. Batman treats him better than Superman, renowned hardass Guy Gardner takes him out for drinks (only after he gets punk'd by Jaime's mom because lawlz hispanic women am i rite guyz?), and he causes the stoic DCU stalwarts like Metron, Oracle, and Phantom Stranger to become taken aback or flustered because he's like, totally wild and out of control because he's a sassy teenager.

    Look at this shit.

He's the fucking Poochy of the DCU. I hope he dies off panel four Crises from now.

There, now when anyone says I hate the book they can be 100% correct.

Don't bait me with retarded accusations then, especially when I rarely, if ever so much as mention the book.

Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special, Cable and Deadpool, Immortal Iron Fist, She-Hulk, and X-Factor for me. I'll probably flip through Blue Beetle and see if I still hate it too, but I think I'm done with it. I'm also really tempted to buy the Ant-Man digest, just because I really, really don't want that book to die, but I've got all the issues already and a list of trades as long as my arm that I still need to buy.

Absolutely nothing, seeing as there are no comic shops near where I am staying.

Same deal for me, except I'm stuck here for two more months. I can only get my pulls when I drive two hours to get back home.

I can finally drop Wolverine now that the arc is over. Carey's X-men is going in it's place. May also drop Runaways and add New X-men when I go try some back issues of it from the shop down here tomorrow.

In the Ares miniseries he used guns a whole bunch.

    They're probably SHIELD issue.

So... yeah. Blue Beetle is awesome. Not that I hold myself up to be the all-mighty judge of what is awesome or anything, but I really liked it. And I'm adding it to my list.

Which probably means I'm going to have to get a second job. But it might just be worth it.

Well, I read one of the early Blue Beetle issues that had a one panel, tiny little reference to a British TV show called 'Life on Mars' that was absolutely awesome. They pretty much had me from that moment on.

For those who read Blue Beetle and didn't get the reference,
the issue has Beetle going back to high school and his best friend telling him that being missing for a year has made him "way cooler than the coma kid." In the background, the coma kid is telling two bored girls that "In my coma, I dreamed I was back in 1976. And I was a cop!" That's pretty much what 'Life on Mars' was about.
