Coins are easy to get. Spend them and earn more! Don't save them like their an Elixir in an RPG.
I'm still working on Find Mii 2. I save up to nearly 300 then blow through them all in one run (or two/three if I hit some special rooms I need specific pairings for).
I just recommended not buying them all at once because 1) Other Features are Better (pictures), and 2) if they aren't in a decently trafficked area, coins might be their only source of Puzzle Pieces/ Find Mii. I figure its better to spread that love out like butter across the apps than just dump it all in at once, though its not everyone's style.
But coins are free! 10 per day with minimal effort.
Was it ever confirmed that if you receive a coin-bought stationary from someone else, you get it for free? If so, we could simply bombard a new 3DS owner with all the stationary they want.

I love that I have a few people on my friends list from different territories so I can get that type of stuff. I believe I still have every swapnote they have released.
And once you unlock the ability to change your stationery, @initiatefailure , let me know and I will send all the new ones they sent since then.

I should really check to see if I have every stationary released. I think I do, man does that scroll bar go a LONG way to the right, but I can't be sure. Anywhere online have a complete list with pictures for me to verify?
I used to have a photo album bookmarked that had them all in it, but I can't find the link. Counting from the last standard stationery (space view of earth), I have 30 additional stationery.
Oh, I am missing ONE stationery, but it's a Japanese language version of the Art Academy stationery and it's impossible to have both. Once you receive one, you cannot receive the other.
Marginally off topic, but it applies to this group of people: One of my new swapnotes was a reply to the Dinosaur Office Remix video, and I did a quick search and realized that most of Dinosaur Office is on youtube. Here is the remix video in question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB1VBroMJRQ
