Alright, so I'm down with Gillen's writing on Iron Man. I liked what I saw. I want more. That's the good thing. The bad thing is the art, which is not great, and I will take it to the bitching thread.

Still undecided on Deadpool. It was a fairly fun read, and I enjoyed it more than Way's Deadpool (which, admittedly, I haven't read for like a year), but I'm not sure the at-least-one-pun-per-panel format is the kind of Deadpool I like. Especially since some of those puns/jokes were a little forced. I should just re-read Cable & Deadpool, which was the best Deadpool.

Are eyes way harder to trace than everything else? Why does Land have everyone's eyes closed in that spread? The bottom left panel is the only one where you can see anyone's eyes, and even there they're iffy at best.

A fifth-dimensional imp named Vyndktvx who has basically overthrown the old guard, including Mr. Mxyzsptlk. He has some vendetta against Superman that started before Superman was born, to the point where he unleashed the Multitude (a fifth dimensional super-weapon) to destroy Earth. Apparently Jor-El had fought him before. This happens to be the very thing that Braniac was preserving civilizations for.

Shadowman #1 was an excellent intro for the title. Both the art and story are definitely top notch.

Valiant started on the right foot and they are getting better with each issue and each title they resurrect.

    EDIT: Here's Valiant's preview pages: http://valiantuniverse.com/2012/09/05/valiants-pullbox-program-signs-up-shadowman-1/

    and the smexy pullbox variant:

I ... I'm dumbstruck. I never would have thought "Shadowman" and "excellent" would be in the same sentence.

Zircher's art is stupefyingly awesome, as always.

He's kind of an amazing guy, man

and the public spokesperson for an entire fascinating branch of science

I don't think the internet jerks him off. He gets respect for what he is, a highly successful and passionate scientist with a great skill in communicating his knowledge and passion to others.

  • JyrenBJyrenB St. AugustineRegistered User regular
He is our generation's Carl Sagan and there is NOTHING bad about that at all. Don't let memes and crap like that distract you from the fact that he's an awesome scientist.

I am all for Neil Degrasse Tyson in our comic books doing sciencey things! And it was a great little short story, too! With science!

As far as sciency adventures go, it's hard to beat the time that Atomic Robo met Carl Sagan and visited Mars.

Also Atomic Robo is freaking awesome.
