You find yourself in a grand feasting hall. The table under your palms stretches seemingly into infinity, and you see several more like it around the room. Seated at these tables alongside you are people of every shape, color, and dress. Tiny monster scurry between the tables, carrying bottles, clean and dirty plates, and trays loaded with food. Your gaze is drawn to an elevated, ornate chair, nearly a throne. Seated upon it is a pale figure dressed in black. His hair is raven, and pinpoints of light shine from his sockets, stars in the night. He rises and speaks.
"Once a year, in wintertime, it falls upon mortals to make the dreams of others come true. You who are invited here tonight will be given the chance to do this for your fellow Graphic Violence posters. Lucien."
A thin, bookish man with a shock of hair sticking up from his head steps to the front of the room. He reads from a book that he holds in front of him.
"Let those who are interested and willing to participate in the gift exchange announce themselves in this thread before November 17th, and send a new forum message directly to my lord Secret Sandman with your name and address. Soon after that deadline, every participant will receive a message with another participant's name and address; it will be your task to select a present for that person, and to send it to them by December 31st.
"The traditional guideline for presents is this: a trade paperback, or something of equivalent value. If you wish to give more, you are more than welcome to do so. Some people may prefer gifts in other forms: digital comics, action-figures, or perhaps comic-themed clothing. If this is true for you, please let it be known. It is also advised that you post a list of what comics you already have, that your gift-giver doesn't accidentally send you a duplicate.
"This post will be updated with the latest information. Refer to it if you have any questions."
The thin man closes his books and steps back. The dark man on the throne looks off to the side and waves his hand. You open your eyes and find yourself at home, in bed, the thin man's words still in your ears.Thank you for signing up!All participant names have been assigned and sent out! Please let me know if you haven't received one!Gifts should be sent by December 31st!GIFT-GIVING PARTICIPANTS

The thin, bookish man adjusts the glasses perched on his nose.
"That is a good point."
That really sucks, Anti (especially since I, for one, would like to read a good TF comic; I keep meaning to buy some of the ones you've recommended, but keep not getting around to it). The only thing that I can say is that you will mostly likely be compensated for whatever gift you send by the gift that you get in return, but of course that's irrelevant if you can't afford to buy a gift in the first place.

I have been buying up Marvel stuff starting with Now! and picked up Schism & am working on WatXM from the beginning. I am really liking the X-Men stuff they have been doing and am kind of working backwards from AvX (I only have the Consequences Mini Series)
I do have a Nexus 7, and don't mind digital comics on it, and am interested in new stuff, I am willing to read just about anything.
Right on, I am in.
"The volunteers have stepped forth and been counted! Thank you for your generosity! Within the week, you will receive the secret names of the people you are to send a gift to. For now, please try to get together a list of comics that you own, so that your Secret Sandman doesn't accidentally send you what you already have."

Stuff I am interested in:
Last stuff I read for DC was Blackest Night and I haven't read anything Marvel 616 really since right before Hope/Cable came back to the current time line. And since Miles took over in USM. Although I have been keeping up with the cliff notes, I want to snag the AvX trade eventually and kick back up there. Has there been anything that hasn't really sucked since One More Day?
I also hear the more recent transformers stuff (2011+) is really top notch.
Here is my Amazon wish list for friends and family to give you some kind of idea what I am interested in
https://twitter.com/Hooraydiation
Here's my ComicbookDB account. I haven't updated this in a long time, but will try to get that done at some point in the next week or so. Also here's a list of some comics I wouldn't mind reading.
You guys with Amazon lists should post them here to help inspire me to find some stuff to read.
Quoting myself for my list of stuff. I will enjoy basically anything I get, though I kind of want something a little more mature. Digital is a little easier for me to read, but physical is alright as well.

"Patience."
The figure spreads his arms wide, and glittering dust - sand? - floats through the air and settles on your skin. Burned suddenly into your mind is a name, a secret name. You know who that person is: the one you are to deliver a gift unto.
The thin figure steps aside.
"You have your names. Make those people happy."
I do own Watchmen. I just forgot to list it since my father is borrowing it.
edit:
oh, and gifts sent My santee (or is that sandee?) can expect them by next week or so I guess.
You made things TOO easy.
