    Nichijou: Still the best

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uHRi67mlsc

    What is this about

Friends having wacky high school hijinks, same as every anime!

Except the friends are a wind-up cyborg, a troll, the world's greatest karma sink, and a weird nerd girl with blue hair.

Browse Nichijou on youtube, tons of clips on there. It's pretty funny

How does it compare to Azumanga Daioh?

Or Yotsuba, for that matter. Is there a Yotsuba anime? Hm...

@Drez St. Elsewhere was a show about an underfunded hospital in Boston. Rather than being about medical mysteries, it was more of a drama about the everyday lives of all these people who worked there, and was famous for being really well-written and intelligent about various social issues; the producers went on to create "Homicide: Life on the Streets" and "Oz." It was kind of ahead of its time - it's much more like a modern serial drama than most of the action or mystery stuff that was popular in the 80s. It also launched the careers of several actors, including a few you may have heard of. And it had great theme music:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdNXBgces1Q

The end was controversial, but it's really just kind of a gimmick out of left field, like the end of "Newhart." It wasn't actually a show about a kid and a snowglobe.

    http://home.vicnet.net.au/~kwgow/crossovers(full).jpg

    the tommy westphall universe!

That's really creepy, to think about those shows like that.

that chart is basically complete bullshit

the core of the theory revolves around actual crossovers between St. Elsewhere and Cheers (which leads to all of the Cheers-related shows, like Frasier and Wings) and to Homicide: Life on the Streets, which connects it to everything that Munch appears in. The rest is baloney.

I sat myself in the window to have a smoke (I don't think slamming doors at 05:47 is so cool amongs the neighbours) and then the mast at the peak of Ulriken started blinking. And since all of the mast is lit up, the effect is pretty cool. Like a slow strobe light show on a huge scale. The dark clouds passing in front of the ghostly light moving really fast, the wind picking up.

    Quite a cool sight.

googling it reveals that it isn't intentional either.

I think I should just stay up every night. Cool stuff can be seen.

Like the northern lights the night where I locked myself out and spent 7 hours outside in just a shirt. Totally worth some minor hypothermia.

Basically it's a very strange little show. But pretty great!

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

no that's frostbite. It wasn't that it was so dang cold, it was just that I was outside for so dang long.

The super nasally high voice that some Japanese women choose to affect is very grating.

Luckily the only people that I have ran into that do it consistently in Japan are people trying to sell you stuff on the street. So, easily avoided for the most part.

    more ramen!

    I have late night hungies.

also I finally walked to the store that is a bit further away and bought my favourite kind of ramen.

which is cheaper than what the closest store has which is just Mr Lee.

I think the main tastiness from these ones comes from the fact that the chicken buillon stuff, the chilli and the oil comes in seperate packets.

So I throw the oil away, save one chilli packet when I'm using two bags of noodles, and I get tasty noodles.

Hrm, the data from the civil war in a 4 county duchy is larger than the data from the civil war currently raging throughout the Persian empire.
