I dunno. I'm in the city for basically any time there is college. I have no classes on Fridays. Sadly, I'm a year away from 21... eh, I might have a fake but it's mediocre. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but decent ones are too expensive for the fact that it'd only be put to use for a year.
for the non-big get together, especially since you are nearby all semester, if drinking is something we want to do it's easy enough for any of us to pick up and then hang at someone's place.
once school starts I'll probably just post about whatever given weekend I'm around and anyone in the area can just hang out.
the actual "pax" (which I am separating in the hopes that it will be bigger) will probably be closer to mid december. I'd like to do it early enough that people who are in school nearby like you can come, and also so that people don't have holidays get in the way.
I'm 23, no probs there. I live in Ramsey, NJ, about a 30 minute drive from NYC. Have a car, will travel. Am pretty familiar with the path/train dealie in and out of NYC, and the subway system in manhattan. I have some favorite bars in the city, but if we're gonna be with under 21'ers, that might not work out. As for when I'm free, that's when it gets more complicated. I'm currently looking for a new job, but if I don't find one, my situation is basically full time a couple weeks, off a couple weeks, every month, depending on the work load. So it's pretty hard for me to predict. Weekends are the best for me, unless it's one of those weeks where I have no work to do.
Please, don't let the young folk like myself limit your plans. If you want to go to some bars, go to some bars. I can't hang out with you guys all the time :P, I got other stuff to do.

No way, it'd be more fun to have everyone involved. Plus no bars does not equal no drinky.
This sounds awesome!! What type of locations were you looking at? You limiting it to Jersey City?
I'm in Manhattan and I have a car, so depending on the heads up I'd be down.

either jersey city or kearny depending on if we go to my place or nexus' (I'll give details on the benefits of my place later today... I have 3 places, though none of them are really mine and all require meeting someone in my family... though my family is nice I realize this can/will be awkward).
Awesome - let me know if you need any help with the events, etc. I know a bunch of chill pubs we could set up shop in - especially if we get together early in the day (weekend).

Oh man. I can't believe out of all the NYC bars you just said BAKER ST. Not only is it my home away from home, but i literally live about 15 steps from it.

Were you there on tuesday? I was there on tuesday. There was an incredibly hot chick and a dude I wanted to kill because he had his arm around her at one point.
Haha U2 songs are their THING there, its funny. In fact, it's gotten so bad* that whenever i hear a U2 song I immediately revert to my "end of the night drunken feeling" I have when I cap off my night @ Baker St.
No, wasn't there Tuesday - but it's weird to think as I walked by it that there's a G&Ter and I didn't even know it! Haha. Jackie and the boys behind the bar do tease me cause I tend to bring some great looking girls around there ;-) eheeh.
Could be worse. My local bar in Jersey, since it's a jersey dive bar, has a THING for Bruce Springstein. Everyone hates it but they will play at least one Bruce song a night.
Yeah the Baker St. bartenders are all hardcore out of Ireland Irish - so U2 is like their bread and butter...err...beer and potatoes?
Which is pretty funny because of the name. I mean, Baker St... you don't get more British than that.
Yeah seriously - I got a picture txt from my Dad when he was in London of the Baker St. Sherlock Holmes sign that the one here is based off of. Pretty awesome.
Ok so bars sound good. Baker St sounds like a good place. Maybe the easiest plan would be to plan on going to a movie or something then hitting up the bar afterwards. That would let the younguns partake as well. A weekend would obviously be best.

I'm all for this plan.
Movies coming up soon include: Bourne Supremacy, SuperBad
I'm down - i just need a heads up, having birthdays pretty much every week for all of August. There's a movie theater 1 block away from Baker St. on 62nd and 1st.
Maybe the thread's name should be changed, since a small meetup couldn't compare to PAX ;-)

I live in Philly.
I have all kinds of free time.

kearny is about 10 minutes from JC.
right, yes this is what I was getting at as well.
One of them better be Baker Street.
Baker Street.
Baker St was going to be my suggestion! I LIVE at that bar
what the fuck! I'm scared.
My friend Katie had her last night in nyc yesterday . . so I got in to work late today. oops.
More along the lines of drinking too much. And then smoking. In the club.
My friend nailed it. And we almost succeeded with an eiffel tower, but it wasn't meant to be.
uuuughghghgh not sexy, haha. Active night for a Wednesday, eh? Do you live in the city or was it a pain in the ass to get home after all that
haha. yeah i know.
I don't usually go all out on a Wednesday, but oh well. I live on the UWS. And we were in the village, so not a big deal to get home.
Also, geckahn, I go to school at that school that's close to you.
I love Boston micro brews
*eyes Beer thread*
:winky:
I love that bar. Trivia night ftw.

Were you that guy?!!?!?!
edit: and they were playing like 85 U2 songs.

We should definitely meet up there for a car bomb
*good

I am so painfully hungover right now. I need to get the hell out of here.
Because that is when I turn 21. *waves flag*

But I'm scared of cities. D :
Oh you'll be fine
I keep those at work.
