So Shawn Michaels was DLC for WWE 12. Now that he seems to be in WWE 13 vanilla, does anyone else think his super kick is extremely odd and weak feeling? He kicks the guy and the guy seems to stumble around before falling down. The animation takes too long.
I got to ask....is Ry's move in wrestling the same as in the game? Because I wanted to see what was so great about this guy and other than feeling like a Goldberg imitation his signature and finishing move are....well pretty lackluster. The signature especially so.
Here's to THQ managing to stay alive until the final DLC comes out, heard good things about Cesaro and Sandow.
Pretty sure that's one of the few times they've actually done it. WWE cut back on pyro this year (see: Del Rio's entrance), so it's usually just the sound effect being played over the speakers. Dumb, yeah, but then most things with Ryback are pretty dumb.
I wish THQ had put more trophies/achievements in the Universe mode than the shitty online ones. It'd be nice to have more incentive to play through it, though I spent a couple of hours messing around with it yesterday anyway. I find that it's a much more fun mode than the Attitude one, which is really restrictive and boring.
So I'd have to pay money to give Ziggler the superkick, right?
Also, how the hell do you do a sit out face buster with Ziggler in this game? It's listed as his third special. Is it only a catch special or something?
Is that the Fame Asser? If so, I assume you grapple behind and either hit the finisher button or direction+finisher button.
I wish there was a way to just copy an in-game wrestlers appearance.
Maybe I'll throw this game in later tonight and get the DLC that I paid for. And I can check to see if anyone downloaded my Slenderman story. I bet not. :-(
Cause I thought changing superstar moves was a paid thing.
Anyway, these historical objectives are silly. I can't Stunner the Rock during the Rumble if he gets thrown out before I get there. And the refs don't stay down long enough for me to pull any shenanigans.

You only need to pay if you are using a move added in DLC (for example if you wanted to use Rikishi's bomb for someone you would need to buy Rikishi. )

Are you sure you can change the moves of characters already in the game? If it's true, I'm probably changing Ziggler's sleeper to a super kick or something.
edit: Anyone know if the Fan Axxess pass is going on sale again any time soon? Maybe for the holidays, or for the Rumble/Mania?
Yeah, I just eventually ended up winning by staying away from the edge. The match kept ending in seconds because Mankind would grapple me and I'd lose instantly.
Anyway, I just got to the Survivor Series 98/Deadly Games part of the story. It's odd that they had to blur Al Snow's name out.
edit: Just played as X-Pac for some reason. The crowd isn't dead silent, so it's not historically accurate.

Unfortunately, Snow, along with D-Lo Brown and a few other attitude era guys, works in an administrative capacity for TNA, and TNA makes all its employees sign no-competes that they won't appear on WWE shows or in WWE products.
Pretty much anyone you can think of that isn't in WWE 13, it's because they work for TNA.
There's definite revisionist history at work here. For instance, Triple H replaces Rick Rude as HBK's "insurance policy" (and does little to nothing to warrant the title, despite the announcers going on and on about it). No Chyna, either.
In fact, while I'm sure there are plenty of reasons for no Chyna, it's still funny that this winds up looking like a formation of the last iteration of DX as a result.

The third special moves you see listed in the movelist is actually the move that wrestler will do when putting an opponent through an announce table.
My favourite part was when they'd air audio ripped from the real life angles and they'd censor out crap. "blah blah blah World Wrestling ... blah blah blah."
I'd prefer "World Wrestling...." then when they clearly had JR or Lawler or Road Dogg come into the studio because they would be saying WWE over and over in supposedly recorded audio from the 90s.
Also find it hilarious that the game ends with the death of WCW/Invasion, which is EXACTLY where the game needs to end and if THQ dies they do not need to go any further. Though I can't say I'm not curious as to how Ubisoft will do with the WWE license.
Also, apparently Ziggler has a superkick as a running strike but now he has it as a finisher/catch finisher as well, and his XFactor is what he does on the outside, apparently.
Doesn't it end in 1999? They missed the (TERRIBLE) Ministry of Darkness storyline, "I did it for The Rock" and so on. So there was still another 2 years of Russo, Nash and a number of others murdering and then pissing all over WCW in there.
It's a bit of a pity that Hogan and Sting are at TNA, as there'd be a great opportunity to make a WWE vs WCW game if they could get those two. They could then rebook the Invasion angle and actually do it right (like not use it as an opportunity to stroke Vince's ego).
Oh and even if Ubisoft does buy THQ, I doubt they'd retain/keep the WWE license. Either it'd revert back to the WWE or Ubisoft would drop it because they don't do fighting or sports games and the contract is apparently pretty bullshit (hence THQ owing the WWE $45 million). I still think EA's the most likely one to end up with the license, at a much lower price of course.
Well the rumor is that Ubisoft wants the WWE license, not THQ in general necessarily.
edit: Oh yeah, the game skips out on Rikishi running over Stone Cold, which was a great storyline with a stupid payoff. That Hell in a Cell was cool but I guess it'd just be a 5 man without Angle.
Just checked Wikipedia and it was a 6 man HIAC with Angle as champ. Yeah, not happening. Not yet, anyway.
One thing that weirds me out a bit about their wrestler roster in 13 is that there are quite a few random guys that were in 12 that aren't particularly relevant to the attitude era, but either still work for the company or can't really be that hard to get permission to use. People like Demolition, Randy Savage, William Regal, Ricky Steamboat, Arn Anderson. Sure they aren't particularly relevant and I wouldn't go out of my way to make new guys for them if I were them, but since they've already been made and you can get the rights why the hell not throw them in or use them as DLC?

For how much I dislike Ryback, I still enjoy some of his typical Goldberg-ish stuff.

There's always a soundeffect when they do an extreme closeup. I'm not sure if there's actually a pyro in the arena.

I put a whole weekend into that story. AND I was forced to change dialogue when I uploaded because of horrible censoring. Ugh.

Mind you the game can be buggy as hell at times so it's likely just that.
