Since we're both n00bs feel free to change your play up a bit. I mean, I changed our play when I forgot the stacking rules.
PS: Yeah, as far as I'm aware you only get one card text per iteration. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that, 'cause that would obviously have a big effect on what I'm playing as well. Also also, looking at the map and the unit list, I think you have a World Eater Marine, a Demon, and a Warband at Primus.
For Cultists, maybe the one at Eternity Wall? I'll admit your icons are a bit harder to read than mine.
I know what the regular units look like but haven't figured out what all the other images are that are being used so I can't help either.
You get one special effect per iteration. You can then add as many special effects that have a (+) symbol next to the special action.
For Example,
2 – Heroic Combat – 1 shield - +Hero: Inflict 1 point of dmg on an opposing Hero.
If you have a hero present that special effect is free and doesn't count towards the one special effect per iteration.
So if it was the 4th iteration and you had a hero and a chaos marine, you could play 3 Heroic Combats + 1 Noose of Ruin, using the special effects listed on all of them.
Counter the special effect, take 2 damage...
1 – Lead by Example – 2 shields – Hero: Draw 1 combat card. Then inflict 2 dmg to 1 opposing Hero
2 – Diversionary Tactics – 2 shields – Hero: Move your opponent's init marker forward 1 space. [5 shields counter]
0 – Open Warp Rift – 2 shields – Chaos Cultists: Take a Daemon Horde affiliated with this Cultists from the stockpile and place it in the Cultist's area. The Daemon Horde is considered engaged in the combat. Then draw 2 combat cards. [5 shields counter]
3rd iteration -
and another
1 – Noose of Ruin – 2 shields – Chaos Space Marines: Eliminate 1 opposing unit regardless of its rank. [5 shields counter]
3 – Diversionary Tactics – 1 shield – Attacking Unit: Move your opponent's init marker forward 1 space. [5 shields counter]
3 – Armies Without Number – 3 shields – Imperial Army: The next time 1 of your Imperial Army units is eliminated in this battle, place an undamaged Imperial Army from your stockpile in the area. It is considered to be engaged in the current battle.
Block 3 damage, effect not countered. Titan, you will be missed . You have 1 damage to assign.
Iteration 4 -
1 – Lead by Example – 2 shields – Hero: Draw 1 combat card. Then inflict 2 dmg to 1 opposing Hero.
2 – Heroic Combat – 1 shield - +Hero: Inflict 1 point of dmg on an opposing Hero.
3 – Armies Without Number – 3 shields – Imperial Army: The next time 1 of your Imperial Army units is eliminated in this battle, place an undamaged Imperial Army from your stockpile in the area. It is considered to be engaged in the current battle.
1 – Know No Fear – 1 shield – Space Marines: The next 2 times during this battle when a friendly Space Marine unit would be eliminated due to regular dmg, you may instead place it in an adjacent friendly or neutral area with 2 points of dmg.
Activate Lead by Example + Heroic Combat.
So 7 damage coming your way, as well as 3 to Angron, and I should get another combat card.

You have a Warband and a Daemon on the spaceport, along with the Marine and Angron. Cultist icons will not be so heavily armored-looking, but so far there are no cultists on the map except for the Nurgle cultist at Eternity Wall.
1 more damage to your Marine should finish him off, another 3 knocks out your demon, another 2 takes out the warband, and a final point goes to Angron wounding him.
Ah, maybe you're right. I read Farangu as "at 6 HP they are considered wounded" but maybe it's "at 6 damage they are considered wounded". Either way it hurt! :P
Ah yeah, see what you mean now.
And yeah, taking a beating all game, this one would have been less so if I hadn't misunderstood the laser turret chances as would have likely dropped / landed directly into Angrons area otherwise, but hell, you live and learn.
+1

It takes 6 damage to wound a Primarch, so Cerberus had it right.

I'll put in Roman numerals for the Heroes later, but for now you can ask the Chaos team, as each team has a listing of their Hero's damage on their spreadsheet.
Drop Pods (2) - Place up to 3 Chaos Space Marines or Thunderhawk flights (in any combination) from your stockpile or the Vengeful Spirit into any area in this region. The units may be placed in enemy, contested, and/or fortified areas but not in a Vengeful Spirit area or an enemy area in the Palace region. Activate the area where the units are placed.
DP into Damocles.

2 – Heroic Combat – 1 shield - +Hero: Inflict 1 point of dmg on an opposing Hero.
2 – Heroic Combat – 1 shield - +Hero: Inflict 1 point of dmg on an opposing Hero.
2 – Irresistible Forces of Change – 3 shields – Tzeentch Unit: Choose any number between 1 and 6, then draw that many bombardment cards. For each Chaos Star drawn, draw 1 additional combat card. For every 2 Imperial Eagles drawn, your opponent draws 1 additional combat card.
1 – Will of Chaos – 1 shield – Chaos Space Marines: You may either remove your normal activation marker from the target area, or flip your activation marker in the target area to its normal side.
Then, for Iteration 3...
3 – Blood for the Blood God - +Khorne Unit: For the remainder of this battle, any opposing units that retreat or rout are instead eliminated.
1 – Lead by Example – 2 shields – Hero: Draw 1 combat card. Then inflict 2 dmg to 1 opposing Hero.
2 – Diversionary Tactics – 2 shields – Hero: Move your opponent's init marker forward 1 space. [5 shields counter]
6 damage and we will activate the special ability for Diversionary Tactics.

I thought there was a cultist there, if its not a cultist what is it?
Also is it true that you can only use one card text per iteration?
