Borderlands 2 turns out to be surprisingly playable at 2560 x 1440 on my i7 Mac Mini with HD4000 graphics. One side effect of the stupidly long console generation I suppose, they have to keep the specs down. :)

Requires Facebook or Twitter. 350 codes left as of a few moments ago when I got mine. Also has console codes if you prefer.

Awesome! I just got BL2 yesterday, so free DLC is sweet!

I think the PC DLC code is broken; it shows an absurdly high number remaining, and gives an Error 500 if I try to snag it. Shame.
So thanks to the Humble Bundle, I have an extra copy of The Binding of Isaac... anybody want it?

Seeing how only three people entered my giveaway, you could try offering it to Gregalor or gidwani (Steam names), as they were the other two who entered.

Found Gregalor's PA forum account, and let's just say he has a very interesting PM... veeeery interesting indeed... MWAHAHAHA!

It just worked for me, on the PC.

Shooting at a teleporter is mainly to trap them on your ship. They don't reinforce very often, its' mainly for them to escape and heal up in their medbay. If they don't have a medbay, honestly probably pointless to shoot at the teleporter as they often don't bother to go back (and if they do they're not likely to trouble you anymore.

Also, I noticed people were asking about I Am Alive. Reposting my take on it:
    Stolls wrote: »
Update on I Am Alive: Not quite a cliffhanger ending, but there are several loose ends that don't get tied up before the game stops. It very much feels like there should be another hour or so.

That said, if you like at least some of the following:
    + Urban exploration
+ Scenery porn, of the "ruined city" type
    + The Road
+ Subtle moral quandaries (think hard about where that meat came from)
+ Innovative if sometimes awkward combat
    + Good pacing
    + The color grey

And are not too bothered by:
    - Dangling plot threads
    - Static characters
    - Antiquated continue system ("Retries" is lives, basically, with hard saves at the start of each chapter)
    - Occasional disconnect between audio and subtitles
    - Fetch quests
    - The color grey

Then you could do a lot worse for $15. It's not a long ride at about six hours, but all told, I enjoyed it.

yeah it's more the point that they will pretty much wreck you crew in anywhere but the med bay. if you're lucky enough to get a anti personnel drone on the engi ship it does a decent job of keeping them busy but in the end they will kill it. the best place to kill them is in the med bay but its only helpful if they head there first. any where else and its gonna be a short fight I've found.

Invaders for me are more about not fighting them. I upgrade doors early and generally try to starve their oxygen by opening the airlocks. Sometimes that means forcing a crew member out of a critical area but generally invader ships don't tend to have the most impressive weapons so you can generally live with someone not on the guns/shield/engine for a while. Leading them on a merry chase will often sort most invaders out.

If you're having a lot of trouble with boarding parties, upgrade to level 2 (or 3) doors ASAP. The first upgrade is really cheap. Once you've got reinforced doors, the majority of locations they jump to are somewhere where you can vent the oxygen without significantly impacting your crew, and even if not, it makes it much easier to run your people to medbay in back. Of course just battling in the medbay is pretty much always the best option if available.

yeah i do that and early sector ships with teleporters aren't that bad but when you get in to the later sectors trying to juggle harder ships and invaders becomes a pain especially in the engi ship. guess it will be something i get better at with time but when my runs end it's usually to those ships. i had a really good run going with the attack drone, the defense drone,a hull healing drone and a anti personnel drone and ran into a ship with a tele that just wrecked me. i made it to sector 5 without a single shop hull heal and still got murdered on easy.

I've never seen an enemy crew member port to their ship, heal up, and then port back.

I was under the impression the AI doesn't know how to do that.

If you have the Zoltan cruiser, killing the teleporter before your shields go down will force them to repair it, which may buy you some time. Same with stealth (may need stealth weapons, depending on how the game is feeling) - if you cloak immediately, they can't teleport over.

If you have enough boarders, porting them to a room quickly enough will sometimes convince the invaders to stick around on their ship.

Really, learn to love the teleporter. It's incredible. One run I had four mantis boarders at max combat. They tore through everything sickeningly fast.

A weird combat maneuver, which may be obvious.
You can re-arrange who is fighting who, kind of. Pause the game, click the guy you want to move (A), then click another room. Choose the man you want to take his place (B), and click another room (can be the same as the first). Then, with B selected, click back into the combat room. And finally, select A and click back into the combat room. Unpause, and the two guys should switch positions. It's proved helpful a few times.

I really don't know what the difference between easy and normal is.

The achievement icon implies something to do with the boss.

I guess it depends on which ship you're using, but generally if I get boarded that early, I just open the doors (double-click the open door icon in the bottom right) and run my guys to the medbay.

Also, avoid nebulae like the plague. Because they are. Just terrible.

Damn it, I see this and I think of the dozen or so unfinished/not even started little creative projects that are collecting dust on my hard drive. I just know that whatever idea I have will sputter out and die, neglected and forgotten beneath a pile of other things. I know that no matter how good the idea of a typical fantasy hero constrained by the bureaucracy and infighting that comes from shoehorning magical disciplines into trade guilds sounds in my head, the execution can and likely will fall flat in any number of ways.

Are there any in-game tutorials of any kind? Not just guides on all the different features, but also ways you could conceivably implement them, step-by-step.

It would be great if the game had any tutorial-like challenges of any kind, like say "build a party of four" or "have this cave lead into an underground mine", stuff like that.

I never upgrade my doors. Never been in a position where it would have made the difference. It's a waste of perfectly good scrap, in my opinion.

Well, unless you have two mantises (manti?) running around, or for some crazy reason you are running an anti-personal drone (crazy) it's only 20 points. And totally worth it.

I mean, I normally have ~50 scrap in the final zone with, literally, nothing worth upgrading available. And I'm glad I spend those 20 for doors in sector ~3

I mention this a lot, but toss a point into Piloting and O2, even if you never allocate extra power to the O2 or use the auto-pilot function. Being able to prevent those vital systems from shutting down when they take damage can save a lot of trouble.
