Just when I find siggable material you guys decide to go and make a quote tree too long to use. Dang you all!

I kinda liked this from the outset, but most noteworthy is the fact you seem to have taken suggestions to heart, which always, always bodes well for an artist :)

Well... except when some bastard keeps emailing you and demanding pornographic content or something. You can tell them to go stuff themselves.

I'm adding your comic to my bookmarks. They're pretty funny. I especially liked the books in the bookshelf in the first comic, and the backgammon, because I'm very fond of those kinds of details. It's like leaving a nice treat for your readers to find.
Glad you liked (and noticed) that. I figure if I throw in those inside jokes that most people will glaze over them, but those that do notice will enjoy the strip that much more.

I was hoping to get this one out before the release of the final Harry Potter book. That turned out to be impossible so I altered the dialog to make it still be relevant. Still working on the backgrounds. I added a cool little lounge chair in the first panel but it got covered up by speech balloons. Do most of you finalize your speech balloons before doing the backgrounds to prevent this problem? Its a shame to work on anything that just going to be covered up.

The carbonite effect gave me hell, and I eventually settled for less than i was hoping for. I used the "base...something something" filter in CS3 to get the texture.

The Boba Fett and Lando Skiff Gaurd helmets may be out of left field, but they were fun as hell to draw.

Are the helmets going to be randomly comming back? lol The I just shit in your cereal helmets.
As far as the bubbles go tho it sucks that something in the bg got chopped but honestly to the reader we arent sitting here saying "man wtf why is that chair covered?" I would only complain if it was something invovled in the comic.

I suppose the idea is that "The Helmets" have long since been used to "shit in someones cereal." Does that make any sense? No way. I really just wanted an excuse to draw a Boba Fett Helmet. The other one was going to be the "Leia as a Bounty Hunter" helmet but I couldnt find a good enough reference image. Lando is twice as smooth anyway.

One thing that bothers me a bit is that the tracking and leading on your dialog don't look quite right. I think you could stand to reduce both. Maybe it's just me, though.

Enlighten me. "tracking and leading." I know that has something to do with the spacing of the characters in the text. I am open to other font choices. I got this one from Blambot. It's called CrimefighterBB.

Funny thing, this was one of the first comments on my site from one of the readers.

Look for Jeramy Cook's comment on this comic.

Long answer, the characters are modeled after two game developers who are used to working 14+ hour days, and me (a recovering insomniac/ new father). So, yes, the 3 of us are perpetually tired.

Short answer, I like drawing eyes that way.

I hate you for posting Harry Potter spoilers, even if they WERE hidden behind a slab of carbonite.

That said, I lol'd. Perspective is the biggest issue, as far as I can tell.

I actually got those spoilers off this forum.

Any particular perspective issues? The carbonite slab in the last panel looks a little off to me.

Yeah, it's not so much in this comic as the previous ones. The left side of the slab is a bit wonky, the first panel thing on the side isn't quite parallel to the other one (at least the top). I'm no master of perspective, but I think setting up each panel beforehand should do the trick, even if it means drawing a bunch of stuff outside the frame to get things right.

Comic #12 is up. A Potterless world is a grim lonely place indeed.

I had to completely redraw panel 4 from scratch after numerous failed attempts to draw Joel from a "straight on" view. I think I managed it with Josh, but I couldnt make Joel's hair look right. I think most comics do this. You almost never see anyone looking straight ahead. I tried to see how they did it with Fry in Futurama (since the two characters have similar hair) but I couldnt find any reference material online. Maybe they just avoided it with him to. The perspective in the final panel is still a little askew. This comic has a shout out to any of you "Frisky Dingo" fans.

Yeah Knob's pretty content to see how far south this will go. Most likely people will get bored and the thread will die, but if the abuse just stagnates into the same barbs he might lock it. Bogey would have been a better choice, or maybe Ori.

Hijinks: SE++ isn't really a place to go for critiques on anything, so don't let their reactions get you down. While the AC's purpose is to be helpful and useful, SE is just an entertainment forum.
