The SS Phallatomic hurtled through space towards its objective.
A voice came over the intercom. "Captain. We are approaching the anomaly. The source appears to be located in an asteroid field."
"Have the science team in the lab started analysis?"
"Yes Captain. The signal may be an encoded message. But the source of the signal... I heard some of the labcoats talking. The energy readings they're getting off of it, they've never seen anything like it."
"They suggested we bring the ship as close to the anomaly as possible."
"Hmm. How dense is the asteroid field?"
"Extremely dense sir. And it seems recently disrupted too. It'll be a real mess if we go in there."
"The ship can handle it. Set the final warp coordinates as close to the anomaly as possible."
Minutes later, the SS Phallatomic pulled out of warp. That very instant, everything went wrong.
"What the hell do these flashing lights mean!?"
"Sir! Shields are down!"
"How is that possible!?"
"We were hit with a blast of extremely high energy charged particles, it had to have come from the anomaly!"
"Engage warp drive! Sublight thrusters at maximum powe- - -!!!"
*CRASH*
"Warp drive is disabled! We've been hit by one of the asteroids! There are more of them than we thought!"
"We still have the sublight thrusters?"
"Yes Sir!"
"Engage autopilot! Evasive mode! Send out an SOS!"
"Sir! the FTL transmitter is down!"
"What!?!"
"It appears to have been sabotaged!"
"Sir! Science team reporting in! We've detected some strange energy readings inside the ship!"

"Sir! Lights are exploding all over the ship! Even most of the emergency lighting is down!"
"Sir!"
"Captain! We need a plan!"

So, err, who sabotaged the stuff? Maybe if you come forward and air your grievances in the thread we could have a frank exchange of views and come to some sort of a compromise solution wherein everyone feels validated, and...

Seriously, though: I know that we all have these sidearms and so on, but with no knowledge of who's in your zone (and presumably a distinct inability to fire into adjacent zones) we're hopefully going to be able to keep the green vs green violence to a minimum. Unless one of the attack options is spray and pray.

Let me emphasize this. If you try to attack someone tonight, you are being incredibly silly
Remember, you don't know who is in your zone, and if you try to attack an invalid target, your attack just goes off randomly (which is clearly not ideal). Even if someone tells you where they are, if you are wanting to attack them that means you clearly don't trust them, so you shouldn't trust that their info is legit.
