seriously though trv, day one votes are usually unfruitful anyway, but you are not doing yourself or the village any favors by making yourself such an easy target.
all the mafia is doing at this point is sighing with relief about missing the vote, if you're village.
To be fair, voting someone out because they're roleplaying is a dumb reason, even for Day 1.
Anyone voting for someone for roleplaying is a fool and a coward and will be the first against the wall.
earlier, people're talkin strategy about whats to do and all. did everybody settle on waitin to see what we're up against? Shouldn't we try'n get the ship back up to workin' order? Warp drive bein' down seems t'be fixable, if anybody what knows how...I bet people who're knowin' their way around the Engine Room could try an' fix it. The FTL transmitter, a body assumes, is in the Comm Room, if we have crewpeoples what know how to handle that job.
Megafrost was sayin' earlier mayhap the other guys want to get stuff fixed...I don't know myself, but seems talkin' to home base 'r whatever would be good, if we could do it, even if we want to put off fixin' the warp drive.
I don't much get the vote gainst TRV, as people're sayin'. Talkin' odd's no reason to lynch a body.
I do guess we gotta lynch some one... until I gets some reasons for things, BertezBertez hain't said what yet.

The idea of sharing where we are/might be isn't bad, but IIRC, that strategy didn't really pay much dividend in the Mando'Phalla game, so I think it's best to wait and see before we commit to anything fancy.
Also, it seems to me that TRV RPs all the damn time, so singling him out for it is silly.

A minor mistake with the the narration has been pointed out to me.
The 'transmitter' in the narration should be properly referred to as the 'transceiver'.
My apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
Hey, hey guys. Guys. I found a note in my coat. It says...
"Stab SeGaTai in the grundle with a switchblade. Reasons. Love, Past You. PS- Whose bright idea was caramel flavored vodka anyway? It makes shitty martinis."
The plan: every day, we each name two rooms that we might be in. One is correct, one isn't.
If the mafia lie: using the totals posted for how many players are in each room, we'll be able to suss out short lists of possible liars. Using coordinated shots, we'll be able to test rooms for specific players to further narrow our suspects.
If they don't lie: we'll have short lists of possible saboteurs.
But doesn't this give the mafia free kills? Nope. Since each player is still listing two rooms, the mafia still has to take 50-50 odds on their shots. And any unauthorized shooting will indicate mafia presence anyway.
Mathy people, am I missing anything here?
It's not a terrible idea, but it'll take a fairly long time to suss anything definitive out.
Those are about the values we'd expect, though Propulsion is a little high. So who might be lying? Well, anybody who said Propulsion might be a good place to start, but that's a trap. The real question is if there's a solution to the problem set.
Which, I mean, yes there is - but is it solveable programatically?
Yeah. I could write an app in 2-4 hours to brute force it.
But if the mafia was flat out lying, it wouldn't tell us who was lying. Just that there was no solution. We'd have to do a hand analysis from there.
And if they weren't lying? What would that buy us? There would still be multiple solutions to the problem.

But -- and correct me if I'm wrong, here! -- there's 23 people total in the Bridge, Engineering and Propulsion right now (as an example). If we take the set of all players who are saying "Bridge + Engi", "Bridge + Propulsion", and "Engi + Propulsion", shouldn't we be able to figure out roughly how many people are lying?
Our data would be made more and more useful each day, as players died and their loyalties were proven, so that we could recalculate the lists of probable liars.
I don't know, my brain hurts. It would obviously get less unwieldy as the playerbase shrinks, but I feel like there's some good old-fashioned logic puzzle shit going on here.
If we get a network head tonight, it won't be necessary.

No, because you're discounting the people who are in Bridge, Engineering, and Propulsion who say that they're in one of those places, as well as the converse.

Except you're intentionally adding noise to the data hoping that you can cancel it out while also not canceling out the mafia's noise.
However you slice it, we wind up with more junk data than useful data. And there's no real reason to do that.
I'm actually gonna make a practical vote on Day 1, for once.
Bertez because of the small bandwagons, I have the least experience with him, and I like having people around that I've dealt with in games like this -- because this looks like a seerless game.

Lab tech. I'm posting from my phone so I just took a guess without checking my inbox. Afterwards I checked and corrected it.
Right now
Let's run through an example using today's data.
(randomly generated data)
Bridge 14
Cabin 14
Engineering 14
Propulsion 18
Those are about the values we'd expect, though Propulsion is a little high. So who might be lying? Well, anybody who said Propulsion might be a good place to start, but that's a trap. The real question is if there's a solution to the problem set.

Plus, I could be wrong. Hence submitting it to peer review.

Day 1 vote count:
Mill: 4 (enlightenedbum, GrimmyTOA, Kilnaga, BradicusMaximus)
BradicusMaximus: 4 (Bliss 101, Megafrost, Baidol, Gandalf_the_Crazed, Langly)
Mikey CTS: 2 (Heffling, SeGaTai)
The Anonymous: 2 (Anialos, Infidel)
Baidol: 2 (Retaba, Megafrost)
Bertezbertez: 2 (M.D., Invictus)
Langly: 2 (Iron Weasel, jdarksun)
Infidel: 1 (The Anonymous)
GrimmyTOA: 1 (MegaMek)
Kime: 1 (Mill)
Heffling: 1 (Mikey CTS)
blahmcblah: 1 (TheRoadVirus)
Bliss 101: 1 (Assuran)
Gandalf_the_Crazed: 1 (Capfalcon)
Capfalcon: 0 (Gandalf_the_Crazed)
enlightenedbum: 0 (Baidol)
TheRoadVirus: 0 (Retaba, OminousLozenge, BradicusMaximus)
We only have to kill 6 of them. They have to kill 24 of us. It's probably better to just get a straight up head count.

To break the tie, and like mega said, looked like a not wanting to die vote rather than voting for rp
