This game is creeping up to be my favorite rpg this gen. it is sweet in all the right places and oh my god, collecting familiars and that great voice acting and alchemy and such pretty art and the music is spectacular and arglebargle. There is a lot of hand-holding, though not at the extent of final fantasy 13. but still, i love every minute.
and drippy is the best mascot character. Just got done with fairyland, which was a treat. regretting not getting the wizard edition with the drippy plush.

i got this... it was worth the fedex woes.
And a leather bound spellbook with a gem.
And I was like... wait am I... YUP! Upside down image!
A duck! got this for me and it is utterly charming! Holds your hand a bit too much during tutorials, and I'm having trouble deciding who their target audience is, but it is so pretty and atmospheric that I forgive it for the confusion
I've been playing a while and just finished the Temple of Trials, game fuckin owns
A lot of people saying it's a very traditional JRPG/traditional Level 5 game in a lot of ways, and while I suppose the former is true technically it still feels fresh
Maybe that's just because of the kind of dearth of good old RPGs nowadays, I dunno, but it's scratching a lot of itches I didn't even know I had!
No idea what a 'traditional Level 5 game' is though, can anyone explain that to me?
Also lmao at Drippy trying on hats during an emotional cutscene, #1 mascot 2013
My one whinge about the game so far. Dear RPG developers: If you're going to have one battle theme for all your random battles and never change it, it has to follow two rules
- It can't have an ear worm
- It needs to be really, really good
This game breaks the first one in my head with that violin riff. Good thing it's still good music!
(then again, I guess there's an exception to the first rule--final fantasy mystic quest buttrock, anyone?)
My one complaint is the AI for your allies is butts. Literally pissing away mp like whoa and dummies in boss battles. I really wish this implemented the final fantasy 12 gambit system. In fact, I wish more RPGs implemented that system. Also the griffin familiar you got with the amazon preorder is ridiculous. Just slap it onto Esther and watch it demolish everyone. Though I see the code on sale on eBay for like $30, which is silly and I kinda wish I saved it to sell

Almost a little too in depth given its presentation.
May get it if I come across it.
Pretty much the entire world (and internet) disagrees with you.
Huh, I had no idea.
But really I was totally confused when watching the battles but then again it didn't have my full attention.
For JRPGs I like Dragon Quest style or Tales of style for battles.
I am Ghibli fanboy.
Steam: Chagrin LoL: Bonhomie
im seriously considering buying a second ps3 just to play this

Then it is crazy that you think it doesn't look interesting!
Because I keep seeing it compared to Dragon Quest or Tales
