To be fair, it's just a lot of the side stuff that really crosses the line into puppy-kicking territory. Most of the time the renegade options are at least plausible things that a particularly ruthless person might do.
It's not really a complaint, because it's never necessary to be horribly mean-spirited while twirling one's moustache, and at least it doesn't fall into the KOTOR trap of having no middle ground between hippy and sociopath. It does mean that it takes longer to fill the renegade bar than it does to fill the paragon one.
