Man, he only gets to haiku #4 and he's already whining about depression and in #5 it's straight to suicidal thoughts.

Stopped reading there. In my mental version he jumped after writing #5 and 6-26 were written by someone else.

He jumped because of the preemie problems touched on in the first two

    What is House of Cards?

Hulu has been shoving The Americans down my throat for the past several weeks. I am totally going to watch it, because the concept looks awesome.

I would be cautiously optimistic, at best. Netflix's first original series wasn't terribly good (er, was it? I didn't care for it).

Heretic that I am, I don't like Arrested Development*. So they don't get as many bonus points for picking that up (they get some, because it's a great precedent).

*It's not that I hate it or anything. It's just ... my brain says "oh, I get that", but it never makes the leap to "oh, that's funny".

edit: what happened to the rest of the post, vanilla?

The points do seem a bit bizarre, but a lot of that's because I was kind of atkins-ing before so a lot of things that were great snacks are now way more points than I'd expect. Specifically almonds, I was tempted to drive out for fast food but then was like, eff that, I've got a can of almonds in my office, gonna just eat a ton of those instead. Turns out pound for pound almonds are WAY more points than beefy 5 layer burritos.

It a netflix "original" that's a copy of a british show. Kevin Spacey plays a corrupt(?) US congressman out to get revenge on his colleagues. Directed by David Fincher.

    edit: oh fine. do that.

Fincher only directs the first two episodes

And copy is kind of incorrect, they bought the rights of the UK version

It's still an original production, even if the premise was stolen.

original refers to "it originates from this network" and ... I don't know what the opposing term is, but whatever they call it when the rights to air a show are purchased. From what I understand, anyway.

I saw the trailer like 2 weeks ago and was so intrigued I watched the British original (which is very British and super-duper-mega 80s but still good)

The British version (in the mid-90s I think) was fantastic. It's actually based on a book by Michael Dobbs (I believe there was also a Radio Play version).

I didn't mean to suggest the premise was stolen.

Just that, the term would be valid in a case where it had been.

so I listened to the original Points of Depature today, while I was driving about.

It's kind of interesting to listen to just the audio of a television show. It lacked titles, credits, music, and sound effects, but was still fairly good.

    Hollywood is dumb?

Honestly I didn't know this existed and now I am very interested in watching; first impression is a even more nitty and gritty West Wing and that's an awesome idea.

He committed to being artistic director of The Old Vic for ten years a while back.
