The Inevitable Night 1: Evil That Men Do
"It seems your 'friends' have made a decision, <Megafrost>." The Aquaintance smirked. "It seems your fate finally caught up to you. How many years did you suffer Shibbolyth indignities? How many years did you spit on the Cartagran name?"
The Acquaintance pointed his finger at <Megafrost>.
"And how many Omertan sloths gave you an open palm?"
"You bastard I'll-" began <Megafrost>
*SNAP*
A silence fell upon the group. They waited, anxiously, for something to happen. Anything. Then suddenly...
"ENOUGH!"
It was <premium>, the traveling salesman.
"Are you going to do anything to us? Is all just a sadistic game for you?"
"Someone-"
An explosion ripped through the wall behind where the Acquaintance was standing.
"-hasn't been paying attention."
All eyes fell upon the gaping hole. Two furious eyes of amber fire flickered faintly, illuminating two giant goat horns beset in obsidian fur.
"This isn't my game. "
The eyes glared at <Bradicus Maximus>, incinerating him instantly.
"I didn't even prepare the sacrifice!"
A giant hand reached out from the hole. Brass claws scratched deep grooves into the cobblestones as <Megafrost> was dragged away screaming.
"Nooo! Why didn't you listen to me! Why didn't anyone else believe! It was <premium> that set this up! It was-"
"Oh. Him?"
<Premium> lay in a pool of black blood.
"No. No, I don't think it's his fault, really."
The Acquaintance stood there as the crowd was frozen in fear. The heavy breathing of the beast from beyond the wall had quieted to a whisper.
"And if you check <Mill>, I'm sure you'll find that he could have used medical attention at the start of my dramatic speech."
"Toodles!"
The Acquaintance disappeared in an instant, and it would be seconds before anyone realized that he was just hiding behind the stone chair, snickering to himself. He won't disappear so easily.
Somewhere in the room, the buzzing of Flies could be heard...
DAY ONE END : There are 9 shards remaining.
Megafrost was innocent, why did you do that to him?
And Premium? Surely it was your own fault he died.
But Bradicus? Yeah. That one's on the demons, for sure.
As for Mill...that looks like a knife wound to me, but I'm no expert.
Oh, I guess I shouldn't do meta commentary? Blast, I thought my hiding spot was perfect.
