For that matter, was anyone talking to <Dys> before the Mandalorian decided that he should die? One would imagine that a seer would attempt to establish some connection, some defense, some companions, with his power.
As for our backgrounds versus our powers, I think our turtly friend has it clean: we are all such interesting people that were we to have any power, it would make sense.

The tiny demon has hinted at knowing XoB is bad but you can't really trust him. Maybe Gandalf just has a shard? Maybe he just likes messing with you? It is something to keep in mind but not really take seriously.
