I really don't like this vote on Gandalf. If the mafia found a seer, wouldn't they just kill them? It makes no sense for them to make such an unnecessarily ballsy play in the thread.
The argument that he claims to be neutral and might side with the mafia has more merit, but ultimately I still think right now we've had such little success finding mafia that we need to go for them directly. At the absolute most, follow Grimmy's idea and use a vig on him, but a vote makes no sense.
That said, I still have my suspicions of Cayrus and he was the first to start the Gandalf wagon today, again without any stated reasoning. It's obvious Gandalf was going to get votes today (however misguided), so I really believe a mafia would want to get in early on a predictable wagon to plausibly claim they helped 'build' the wagon rather than voting later and just hiding in it.
"I am not young enough to know everything." - Oscar Wilde
My vote yesterday for <Cayrus> was mostly by default; the other options seemed to be <Xenogears>, whom our host advocated and for that reason I was unwilling to follow, <Phyphor>, who at the time I thought could easily be a seer (and was), and <Gandalf>, who, one hopes, we have finally abandoned as a serious target unless new information comes to light. In addition, of course, <Cayrus> has participated little in discussion, which, while not even strong evidence that he is evil, certainly disposes me badly toward him.
But <facetious> makes a fair argument above. I am interested in discussion and other ideas, but for now, Cayrus.

You guys should know by now that I'm from the Cythraul school of activity when I'm a vanillager and only get really active when I'm a special or mafia. It's just how I roll. Kill me for it if you want, but unless I'm sharded you're wasting a vote kill.
Cayrus tends to the quiet in most situations, I find. His reticence is, at the least, consistent.
That said, I largely agree with the thrust of Facetious' argument against him. I'll think a bit more before I commit. Already switched my vote once today. Don't want to get a reputation.

So ideally for you you'd be immune to everyone's vote?

"Ah yes, how absolutely irresponsible of me to forget about you in all the excitement last night!" The Acquaintance chimed as he re-entered, carrying a corpse over his shoulder with a striking resemblance to the actor who played Bernie in Weekend at Bernie's 2. Not that anyone would recognize that fact.
He faced <Butler for Life #1> and put on a transparent green visor. "Now," he nonchalantly began, "you have a few new career options. One, you can have a trial by fire. Two, a trial by lightning. Or three, I can transfer your soul into this body and send you into the future where you will die a little bit each day for all eternity as you are forced to participate in creating the worst blight ever known to mankind. The choice is entirely up to you, my good man."
<Butler for Life #1> swallowed hard, took a moment to gauge his situation, and said, "I-
That was all he was able to get out. Everyone watched in silent horror as he spontaneously burst into flame. His bloodcurdling screams were only silenced by a secondary bolt that fused his lips together, and then by a curious flash that saw him disappear along with Bernie.
The Acquaintance looked around the room. "What?" he asked, defensively. "He ran out of time."
So either the guard couldn't guard Phyphor or didn't believe him.
Last time outed specials couldn't be guarded and as I feared, the mafia picked up Obi's vig from narration.
This game is not going so well for us.
I also am worried this Cayrus wagon is picking up steam too fast.
Let me be entirely clear. I am interested in other ideas for targets. The current attack on <Cayrus> is born of his unwillingness to share his reasons--for example, his vote for <Gandalf> today still goes unjustified, despite heavy pressure!--and the possibility that his early vote on <Gandalf> today was born of a demon's urge to fit in amongst a crowd.
This is not much. But unless someone can provide better ideas, it is the best we have.

I'm of two minds of the Cayrus wagon. I thought he was a decent vote yesterday, especially compared to the Phyphor/Gandalf shenanigans. That wagon got a little support and then got totally upended when people starting voting for the guy the Acquaintance wanted dead.
One of the reason the Cayrus bandwagon is picking up so fast is the mafia throwing in the towel on defending him. They avoided having a serious vote on him yesterday, so they may see today as a good way to polish their vote record. With two mafia kills and the village seer/vig dead, the mafia is doing pretty well. Absent a strong string of votes, we're in deep trouble. Cayrus may well make a handy sacrifice to keep us running after our tails with the vote for the next few days.
I don't love it, but even if today's record isn't great, we can look back at yesterday's if Cayrus comes back mafia. If he does, I'm willing to bet that XoB wagon is chock full of demons.

going with Gandalf since I don't have a good feel for others right now and he is all neutrally, this week was busier than I thought it was going to be
I understand the people who want to kill <Gandalf> because they think he is likely to be a demon, though I simply substantially disagree with the claim that he is likely to be a demon. But you seem to be saying here that you want to kill him, not because he is likely to be a demon, but because he is neither demon nor aligned with us?

Hey, Hey! Quit bein' so dead, Im arguin' at ya!
Pointing fingers at a guy is one thing, carrying a torch for a dead guy and gettin the seer all killed is less good.

fuck.
Cayrus also started the Gandalf wagon today and voted for Langly on day 1. Either of those reasons are good enough for me, for now.
