Probably not gonna do much good to try and convince people of my benevolent nature now, but I can say with all certainty that I am NOT a Mafia member.
Any seemingly suspicious behavior is probably a side effect of spending all weekend at PAX, but that's my own fault for trying to juggle a phalla and a convention, so I can't complain.
I will say that I'm sorry for not giving this game the proper level of attention.

Oh thank God, after triple checking there will only be 3 deaths to Inactivus.
Not too bad.

End of Night 5: Really? Really?
Many stories have heroes, valiant individuals with a hearty sense of derring-do. They lead the charge against the villain, they defeat the evil that has distraught their land, and find peace at last. Often they are invincible, indestructible men who draw burly strength from training, conditioning, and plot contrivances.
But here, in The Game, there are no plot contrivances.
Just...contrivances from a random, harsh mistress.
Known only as INACTIVUS.
This mighty beast, born from the unfettered, raw sloth of men rose to meet the challenge of The Game where none else had dared.
HO HO HO, THESE PITIFUL CREATURES said the creature, thought up in a moment by an exasperated host, KNOW THEY NOT OF MY WORKS? KNOW THEY NOT OF MY POWER?
And so, without much of a catalogue to explain the sudden death of 2 villagers and one mafia, INACTIVUS was born.
With a hand emblazoned with the thousand lazy wishes of slumbering slobs it swept away Shino Sly, Donovan Moore, and Morgain Uswain.
As these three lazy men were dragged off, The Game continued in earnest.
The Acquaintance gestured toward the pitiful sacrifice, <RMED>. He fought valiantly against the brass claws that reached out toward him, but it was no use.
"PLEASE NO!" he shamefully begged. "I RENOUNCE MY KNIGHTHOOD! I CAST OFF EVERYTHING! PLEASE! WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY" he began to whimper. "I...I don't know..." he regained his composure as the dreadful beast brought it closer to the hole. "It wasn't me! IT WAS-"
But the steady crunch of bones silenced the cowardly Asphodel knight, shattering a small talisman.
The entertainer, Javier Hardy, had tried to keep up spirits in these dark times, putting on a puppet show with bits of string, some rock, and various sticks. As the brass claws dragged away the sacrifice, Javier made the gruesome mistake of pantomiming the puppet with horns slipping on some custard and falling in front of his mistress, Princess Frollyheart of Sticks.
Perhaps it was random chance that the eyes of the beast fell upon him then. But the more superstitious men quietly crushed the small figures as discreetly as they could. A few commented on the strange purple flash, but it quickly passed as they resumed their discussion on the banning of dolls.
The cloud of flies and strange beam both went down to <Retaba>, destroying him utterly in a furious cloud of pestilence.
There are five shards remaining.

Cythraul because really, killing me would have been much better.
I'd like to think that even though Eric Zahn died to inactivus, it was the village who drove him to this madness.
Anialos, you're still doing it!!

Anialos.
I already stated my reasons why yesterday.
I'll go back through and check EZ's vote record later tonight if no one else gets to it by then.

Yes, Malkor, I am. See no reason to change. I'm not mafia if that helps! Withdrawing would be counter productive, and I have no way to prove I'm village! All I can do is vote for someone else and hope the rest of you actually analyse some stuff to come up with a better target.
In times past, RME was Romanian My Escutcheon, Doxy. I forgot his name before that. Not Pretentious. The other guy who wanted a name change and lost the coin flip.

Welp, the whole Retaba thing doesnt look so good for me now.
Curious as to who else he was talking to, though, for (i assume) two... things to want to kill him.
Also curious as to what he said. He's usually a bit more open in communications. At least it feels like he normally is.
Glad a mafia is dead, but it sucks that our only success so far has been at the hands of his own inaction.
We seem to be stagnating a little bit. Perhaps something to get everyone active and involved?
Perhaps a TEAM-building exercise? Some calisthenics? A pinata?

Survivors, by faction. I'm pursuing a theory here. Might not pan out, who knows. If nothing else, this should help avoid voting for dead people. Maybe.

8. Burter Brea - MrTLicious - dead, village (Shard, see Day 2 Narration)

17. James Raddison - Obifett - dead, a vigilante warrior
20. Hester Fields - Langly - Dead, DEMON (Day 3)
25. Donovan Moore – Eric Zahn - Dead, DEMON (Day 5)
26. Javier Hardy – CesareB - Dead, village (Shard, see Day 5 Narration)
Omerta - 1 Special / 3 Shards / 0 Demons
35. Gideon Faulkner - Dys - dead, village Seer
31. Kodassa Moore - Gandalf_The_Crazed - dead, village (Shard, see Day 4 Narration)
37. Austin Cobalt – Mikey CTS - dead, village (Shard, see Day 4 Narration)
41. Holly Underwood – I needed a name to post - dead, villager (Shard, see Day 3 Narration)
You know, reading back over the narrations, I remembered that shards could be removed without killing anyone. So I should be clear that the deceased I marked as shard-holders are just based on my interpretation of events. Whether the shard count was reduced by death or removal is a bit vague, probably intentionally.
Sometimes I have ideas for things.

I have no idea what Anialos is doing, but I don't think a mafia would make a post like that. That just invites suspicion.
I still want to follow up on the Zonugal thing. We haven't found mafia by following the big wagons, and so those seemingly throwaway votes several days ago now become more suspicious to me. Both those making it and the man they made them for, because it's seemed after people got defensive on both sides talk has quietly died down and moved onto other vote targets without much fanfare. I'm always suspicious of when small wagons just disappear entirely like that and the focus shifts completely away, but especially when it was such a loud one in the first place.

I am entirely open to arguments to the contrary, but I doubt that the vote record of someone who died due to failure to contribute will be illuminating.

The_Anonymous has been pretty quiet this game, and looking back over the vote rec he's had late votes in the big wagons every day except day1 when he started the vote on Mega.
I am entirely open to arguments to the contrary, but I doubt that the vote record of someone who died due to failure to contribute will be illuminating.
Probably not, but given that it's a dead demon with several days of voting I figured it was at least worth putting up. **shrug**
Well, <Anialos> and <Zonugal> have had significant vote presences the last few days, so if one of them turns up red, we'll have some real data to work with. So I'll vote for one of those.
I don't have too much time today, so I'll just try to summarize the arguments for each, as I understand them, and pick one.
<Zonugal>: overreacted early to just a couple votes on him; defends himself as "I'm always like this."
<Anialos>: Has commented very little; always votes immediately after the beginning of the day; votes do not seem responsive to discussion.
I think neither of these are very good leads, but they would give us data if one turned red. Nonetheless, if I had more time I'd try to dig up something else, but I do not.
Of the two, Zonugal has at least been active and participating, and ever since an early bad experience I had, I am always cognizant of the possibility that the quiet ones are the bad ones.
So, Anialos.
