I constructed a few LEGO: Aliens models (initially for the release of Colonial Marines but we know how that went). The Power Loader design is from Larry Lars on Flickr. I'll have an animation sequence with these pieces soon. Check out the models and let me know your thoughts.

Anyway, that video was really the formal beginning to my creativity as a LEGO animator. Now, six years later, I am releasing a LEGO WiiU animation using the same basic principle of time lapse construction. My hope, was to get some feedback on both the old Lego Wii and the new WiiU as a manner of assessing where I've come from and whether some techniques have improved, as well as hearing comments on what I could continue to do. Posting the new video shortly....
Dude, kooberz, I saw your zanzibar the month you started tracking your progress. I waited so long for the eventual Battle of the Brick. I had begun to think that you had given up when I saw the Halo short all over gametrailers etc. That was an incredibly creative short film. I know at least I hadn't seen anything like it until then. It was a blast. I'm really glad to see you doing more lego stuff
Thanks a ton for your support my friend! I'm still doing my thing. Trying to turn it into a real-life endeavor, making my vocation a vacation. Just trying to spread the word about it. I've done a whole bunch of stuff since LEGO Halo too, check it out. COD, Gears of War, Portal, Pac Man, etc.
You can be just as creative with it as you are with the stop motion itself.

I'm going to echo what Iruka said earlier though, the artistic quality of the shots you're getting could be increased tenfold with some decent knowledge of lighting. Your sense of composition isn't bad at all, so lighting would just take you to the next level. To do stop motion, you honestly wouldn't need anything super expensive (the video Iruka posted is a good example) to improve your lighting. Also check up on how to work your camera's whitebalance as it's off in all your videos so far (that's where that yellow/orange tint is coming from).
Other ways to gain a bit of knowledge on lighting - barns'n noble or whatever the closest book store is and check out some books on lighting (even just looking through them), check out magazines' product shots, portrait shots, etc and just take the time to figure out how they're lit. Heck when watching movies or even walking through a grocery store, stop and take the time to look at how something is lit. I'll stop movies all the time and take note of a scene I really liked the lighting in.

I am new on the forum and I'm pretty impressed with this. This is pretty cool stuff that you have uploaded. I really like the Sim City model and the video and animations are pretty cool too. I hope Lego never goes out of fashion and I agree with KodiSur also, they can really be an art sculpting tool. My brother was really good with lego (back in the days) but I think you have real talent so keep going, hope you get more support for your work..You should also try and illustrate your work a little more as I use Lego font for alot of things, it may be useful for you http://www.fontsaddict.com/font/lego-system.html
