"DS? Maybe a low quality PSP game.. wait.. it's.. what?"

That was pretty much my thought cycle reading down the thread.

I let my daughter play Cruisin' World a little while back. She came in 5th, or something. She's also 3.

That sums up about everything there is to know about Cruisin's gameplay. Now the graphics match, apparently.

This looks like shit for a PS2 game. There's no excuse for a Wii game looking like that. Even if this isn't what the final build will look like, they should never have taken screenshots the way it looks now.

Are you all on crack? The DS can't do that shit at all.

Its on par with most gamecube games. Not a big surprise considering that the wii isnt all that much more powerful.

(note: 2x the power does not mean the gfx suddenly become twice as good)

    oh hey a troll

what I want to know is:

FYI, those screens, models and tracks all came from the Fast and the Furious arcade game.

Except the choose track screen... that looks like Wii.

Is that based on fact from somewhere or an assumption or what

I think you're confused. Those graphics are pretty much dead on for a late in the gen PS One game. The majority of even PS2 games look better than that.

Although this isn't necessarily fake, if anyone else has tried to play the Harry Potter game they came out with on the Wii

My first reaction was "that's some pretty impressive 3D for the DS, right on par with AsphaltGT2."

So, yeah. Perhaps they should consider porting it over? Cause, uh, this shit ain't gonna fly, not in the same month Mario Fucking Galaxy comes out.

This is retailing for 30 bucks, so I don't think it's going to look any better than it already does.

By that I assume you mean that if I wait long enough, retailers will happily pay ME $30 to take it off their hands. After all, even if a steaming pile of crap is priced at only $30, it's still a steaming pile of crap stinking up your display case at the end of the day.

see how it says "F & F" on the top left?

That's from the Fast and Furious arcade game; the old one:

see the car selection screenshot in the arcade cabinet? Same selection screen (different car though obviously)

i thought this was a fake at first, when the F&F thing was pointed out to me, but these screenshots were attached to the press release Midway just sent to Games Press. they've been duped in the past though...

I just looked up the arcade cabinet. The "F & F" logos are identical.

    Here's the thing though:

Even if those screens are fake, the relentlessly bad concept art is known to be real. Besides, it's Midway, and it screams cash-in. I wouldn't be holding out for real screens to look much better.

Nintendo should refuse to grant the seal of quality to it ;)

So, I heard about dead pixels haunting PSPs. Yours suffer from quite a bit of that eh.

Well anyway, PSOne games running on the PSP looks better than that crap. I want an explanation as to how the fuck anyone could release screens like that without risking being slammed by people.

Hyperbole, I hope. As much as we say it, seriously ... anything from this gen looks better than the PSOne (and N64 which we also joke around about). If you don't believe me, hook up the original and look again. It's almost unfathomable what kind of rendering glitch garbage we'd put up with back then.

I eagerly await the first "oh dude this is definately* a forza killer, finally a racing game that's FUN" from the "sim racers, ick" set.

*"definitely" spelled wrong for extra effect

And goddammit, Wii Rush = me spending $50. Make this happen.

I figured they could use those as some kind of braille.

Maybe that's the reason. Midway's gotten charitable, so now they're making games for the blind. In which case, we should be happy that they included some images for us seeing folk. Those graphics are top of the line for sight-impaired videogaming.

While I'll agree that it's tough to go back to Origami World visuals, did you see the comparison shot with the N64 Cruis'n in this thread? This game seriously doesn't look much better.
