My mom commissioned this in honor of my dad's retirement this week - crits welcome! Too late to subtract anything, but is there anything I can add to the linework to improve it? (Not super comfortable with pens, if you couldn't tell). Does the composition need more elements? (Sun, hints of grass... chickens?)
*snip*
Here's what my dad looks like.
Reference I took for an old project, hehe.
Edit: Sorry about the spoilers. How do you get them to show up as images, not as links? ...Thanks!
Beckerskulls I really love that. Two chickens behind his feet, one pecking the ground, would look nice and lazy. But it looks really nice as is. Great work!

I think a few tiny lines to hint at (at least the big) toenails wouldn't hurt, but it looks good!
Hey guys, I started this account aaaaages ago (in fact, when I signed back in it told me I was now a forum regular... oops, feel quite dishonest about that...). I've been feeling like my stuff's been getting a bit stagnant lately, so I thought I'd post some of my latest scribblings by way of a re-introduction and to get some feedback:
I have stared at this for a long time so there are probably some really big problems with it, but I did it without reference and I'm kinda happy with it.
EDIT: Problems like how his hands are angled differently from the pole. Also everything else. OH WELL IT LOOKED GOOD IN THE MOMENT.
Hey everyone first post, I hardly ever post on message boards and feel like I need to get my stuff out there more. This is a wip, trying to figure out how to do a cartoony and painterly style together and trying to understand color and light better, I really wish color and light came easier to me but I'm soooo slow at it, so frustrating. >___<
@juggernut here is the line-work if you want to give it a proper coloring.
and im not sure how good you are with computers but his left wrist guard needs to shimmy down his wrist. my analog methods prevent corrections some times, because id also have drawn feet but i started on his head first and ran out of room. i facepalmed pretty hard when that happened. but im happy you like it.

I original scene out the window was really washed out and muted; the replacement I put in doesn't really work.

Severed...love it. Your drawing here feels less stiff than some of your stuff can sometimes get. Solid man

Some kind of adventure looking guy.
This is new territory for me, I've never even really drawn in this kind of style.
