Streaming your Gameplay - what's the best way right now?

If I wanted to run a quick video stream of some gameplay, what's the easiest service/method for getting one up and running that (importantly) doesn't cost anything? I'm not looking to start a big gaming channel, just something to share amongst a couple of friends who want a closer look at what I'm doing, while I'm doing it.
In the past I've used livestream when I'm doing online racing sims, but it hasn't always worked that great and the website isn't terribly user friendly. I'm also aware of Twitch, because of Planetside 2, but I'm not that familiar with it.
