Another new server at work, and another server with a crush on me.

Women can't resist the deadly combination of a man with power AND in uniform. 8->

Although in reality what it means is another woman in this small town that I absolutely cannot pursue despite her apparently being attracted to me.

No. I haven't seen a single building in the SF area that does that.

what about buildings that skip the number 4

Never run into one in the US that does that.

Mostly because the designers and owners are not Chinese or Japanese or have that influence on them.

In Japan many places don't skip the floor but they do skip the room in hospitals.

I played an arcade game yesterday called "Gunmen Wars". The gun was also the controller to move your character around through a corridor-like 3D maze. There was no aiming of the gun, just moving your character and shooting. I don't think I'd ever seen that before.

Verizon fixed their peering relationship with Youtube's CDN a few days after I called up Verizon and threatened to cancel my service.

Now apparently they're allowing Netflix CDN peering to degrade (hit 100% capacity without falling back to general internet routes or buying more bandwidth). I don't have Netflix but apparently it's unusable on a large branch of Verizon's east coast fiber network. People are goddamned furious. Where was this anger when it was youtube?!

There are a few like that in Japan. Metal Gear Arcade, is one.

A more popular one is called Gunslinger Stratos and you hold a light gun in each hand, and the light guns have thumbsticks for movements. You can aim the two separately or you can attach the two guns together (they are magnetized) in different configurations to equip and aim different weapons.

You might have the missing hospital rooms but I doubt the floors. Mostly because the ownership of most of the large buildings would be whites and not Chinese or Japanese during most of the development.

    You know why?

So you know 4 is both よん and し. Well the latter one is also 死(し)as in death. So most hospitals and such will not have a room 4 because it is an unlucky number. They will also skip the floor occasionally kind of like we skip the 13th floor sometimes in the States.

    Perceived cost verse actual cost.

You don't pay youtube directly but you do pay netflix directly. So the percieved cost for youtube is $0 but netflix is 8 bucks a month.

No. I haven't seen a single building in the SF area that does that.

How do you fuck with new people?

Near that tower is the Moscone Garage.

The floors are color-coded, as is true of many multi-level garages. And the buttons are also color-coded, which typically is meant to help you remember which floor your car is on...

But at the Moscone Garage, inexplicably, the colors of the buttons do not match up in any way to the colors of the floors.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

The one in Chicago is actually, shockingly not bad. Like, not the nicest building in town by a long shot but he didn't gild the lily. Supposedly his daughter was mostly responsible for it and he also had absolutely nothing to do with the design, so...

My friend-once-removed that I've been spending more time with recently goes on and on about my third eye being really bright and beautiful, and that I have such a positive and "teal-colored" aura. She says my chi is really open but certain chakras could use some work.

I get extremely embarrassed during these digressions because anyone overhearing us is probably like O_o :v:
