Today I got the Golden Watering Can. This was a big surprise because I was pretty sure I'd screwed up and broken the Perfect Town streak. I guess I didn't! Is it weird that I got that before ever getting a Silver one?

What the heck are you guys talking about with all this touching? Are there Animal Crossing key parties going on?
If you touch an item (put it into your personal inventory), then it is added to your catalog.
If the item is in your catalog, then you can order it.
So, to get full sets, people visit one another's towns, put items on the ground, let folks hold the items, and then return them. Then the holding folks can go back to their own towns and order the item from their Nooks catalog.

Rather than write out a "this is what Animal Crossing is" paragraph, I'm going to wait for the Zero Punctuation review to be uploaded to Youtube, and then just use that. If someone does not know what AC is, I think Yahtzee's explanation is the best introduction.
If anyone has any links they want added, please to be letting me know. I would like to get to the point where any AC questioncan be answered with "Read the fucking OPs".
Edit: Also a wee bit disappointed that my Animal Crossing drinking game did not get more awesomes: AC:NL drinking game: Take a shot whenever two guides contradict one another!

Edit, longer thought: I really like Zero Punctuation, but not as a "real" review of what to expect in a game. Yahtzee tends to disregard any features of a game that might mitigate his specific annoyances. (In the case of New Leaf, ordinances) He's great for entertainment value, but I'd never use one of his "reviews" to convince someone to play a game.
Becky from Phoenix your town is great! I helped myself to an axe, and didn't step on any flowers! That was kindof stressful though because there were a ton of them! It was so cool.

Now I can safely move my flowers and trees around again.
