I'm just concerned about how Blossom will react to a kitten.

I think a friend borrowed my cat for a week once to take care of a mouse problem.

The charge is devastating: That, on August 29, 2005, the White House withheld from the state police the information that New Orleans was about to flood. From almost any other source, I would not have believed it. But this was not just any source. The whistle-blower is Dr. Ivor van Heerden, deputy director of the Louisiana State University Hurricane Center, the chief technician advising the state on saving lives during Katrina…

I really do not like Dawkins.

Not because of what he says but the way he says it. Man ruins whatever message he has by being so damn arrogant.

Same with Philip Pullman. I'd like to enjoy his books, but all he can say every time he's in the news is 'CS Lewis sucked I am better than he was' or ' J K Rowling sucks I am better than she is' and it's so off-putting.

    I'd like a 'D' on my t-shirt for 'don't care'.

Nice. On the radio this morning I heard interviews with people who didn't know there was a hurricane until it was too late to leave. Hearing them describe how they were surprised with what was going on was kind of jarring.

I like what he says, generally. And I like the way he says it, generally. But there's this weird victimhood line that he's been spouting as of late that just turns me the fuck off. He's always seemed very amicable and such in the interviews that I've seen, so I don't get the arrogance thing so much.

Pullman, I can't speak for. I'd be willing to say that C.S. Lewis was really retarded, but I wouldn't say that about his fiction, necessarily. Just his apologetics crap, and so far as I know, that's not an area where Pullman has any business comparing himself.

Dawkins gets a little too aggressive from what I've seen of him - too agitated, and it's just not the right approach with dealing with "the other side" on their own soil.

Maybe I'm doing Pullman an injustice. I just searched for articles on him on the BBC, and I can't find anything about JK Rowling and his comments on C.S. Lewis actually sound reasonable. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

In other words, Pullman raises money for charity, doesn't think you should be qualified to be a teacher before the age of 35, thinks children should read more classics, and the Archbishop of Canterbury says Pullman's novels are extremely important and should be taught in RE classes.
