I haven't read past the introduction to The God Delusion, and I've only read a few chapters from A Devil's Chaplain, so I can't speak much for his writing, but from what I've seen of his interviews (and I've seen like, all of them) he's carried himself pretty amicably.
But meh. I hate this victimhood bullshit. PZ Myers from Pharyngula is doing the same thing.

The problem is that His Dark Materials was a much better series than Harry Potter, but HP outsold everything else that mankind has ever published by orders of magnitude.

Depends. If you couldn't enjoy His Dark Materials because it was a book aimed at children then you'll hate Harry Potter. They are fairly different styles though, so HP might tickle your fancy more. Although be aware that the first book is generally quite shitty.

I believe I am finally over my headcold, I actually woke up on time this morning, and when I awoke not only was I the only one home, but there was 2 cups of coffee still hot in the coffee maker.
The only thing that could make it better right now would maybe be breakfast. So I'm going to go make some before those fat bastards get back.
